Edit - 4/2025. We have ordered from here multiple times recently and had issues with delivery. It has taken them considerably longer to get to our address than it has in the past. Also, one time they actually never showed up!! Today I found a piece of metal that I believe to be from the scrubbers they use for their dishes, I’ll attach a photo. I’ll be reporting this to the health department Our absolute go to for Chinese food, both dine in and delivery. I typically order the cashew chicken no mushrooms, and it never lets me down. We can’t resist some sushi when we order too. We used to live over off of Bryant Irvin and always got delivery from a place called Taste of Asia. Were super disappointed when we moved that we couldn’t eat there anymore, until we found the Taste of Asia in Burleson near the HEB. Same they didn’t deliver to us since we were too far. Asian Café to the rescue for sure. We are absolutely convince they are owned by the same person, or the same restaurant just different name. The dishes are exactly the same, as are the menus. So happy they deliver to us.

Edit- We will never eat here again! My grandmothers chair slipped out from under her when she was sitting down at the table and fell, she broke her hip in the restaurant on 11-16-24 around 1:00 pm. No one came to see if she was ok or if we needed any help, but thought it appropriate to all go to the back and laugh. I called to see if the they had video footage of her fall for her Doctor to understand how this break occurred. They told me they would call me back after finding it and haven't heard one thing back. Horrible customer service. A lot like Taste of Asia. The rice wasn't dry, soup wasn't too thick, the meat was tender. The vegetables could have been steamed a little longer,

Surrounded by chain restaurants, I wanted something new and homestyle. In passing through the shopping center, I saw this restaurant and a quick look through the reviews, was convinced to stop in. I ordered the Hot and Sour soup, a Wasabi roll, and Szechwan shrimp. With full view of the kitchen, everything came out fresh and timed perfectly. The soup was delicious and the sushi was delectable. The main dish came out soon after and it was packed with flavor. The sauce had a perfect amount of heat. The experience definitely brought back some great memories of eating fantastic Asian food in Houston.

Food made us sick.

We’ve gone here at least 3x. The food was relatively good and fast.

Our most recent time we ordered takeout and they said 10-15 minutes. It was busy, but not too busy. There were a few tables unseated but most were full. No customers wore masks and it was very close together so it felt a bit cramped so we waited outside to be safe. It was pretty late, about 7:00 on a weekday.

15minutes later we walk in to ask if it’s ready. No one acknowledged as we waited to ask. There was an upset customer waiting for their order which apparently was really late. We had to interrupt them to ask about ours since we weren’t acknowledged. They looked at our ticket and said our food would be out in 15 MORE minutes. It didnt seem it was even started. Maybe other tickets were pushed in front of ours. Double what we were originally told. They had 5 food tickets hanging. Cudos to them everyone seemed to be working pretty fast.

So we went outside another 10 minutes. Came inside and half the tables were empty. Guess the rush was over.

As we walked in, the angry customer was walking out. He said to us “you better ask about your order again, you gotta be on them to get your food”. He apparently was waiting much longer than us.

We sat down for 5 minutes before asking again and watched to see if any togo orders were ready. Half the restaurant was empty now. A guy came in to pick up his order. They handed him one of the bags. He walked out. A few minutes later he walked back in, the staff apologized and handed him a second bag with a coupon so either something was wrong or they didnt hand him his full order.

Our order comes up, a bit past the second 15 minute mark. We ask for silverware and we get just two forks. You’ll never get ample silverware here for takeout, its always skimpy. We had a full bag, enough for 4. Most places give napkin, 3utensils, salt, and chopsticks for each meal. Here they give half the amount of utensils needed for all the meals and just one type of utensil (in the past they gave only 1 chopsticks for two meals).

Now all this was fine. Restaurants get busy, it happens. But we finally sit down to eat and my chicken was real tough and overcooked. The other meals seemed fine. I ate a third of my meal. Even worse, an hour later I got real sick on it. Thankfully it didn’t last long but it was unpleasant.

I thought “I can’t blame the food for sure”. So I put it in the fridge. My dad asks to eat it the next day. I said sure, I didnt feel good on it. He had it, and guess what? An hour later he got sick. Exactly as I had.

We were served bad food and for that I won’t want to go back.

One star added since the food...

  • I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN * Today, Saturday Dec 14th at approximately 1:30 I attempted to "Dine In" (which would've been my 2nd time eating at Asian Cafe). The Scenario: I'm a African-American Male, and as I was parking, I noticed 4 Caucasian Women entering the Restaurant (approximately 2 minutes before me). As I entered, "The Server/Older Grey-Haired Asian Man" was standing at the Host desk, so I let him know I was eating alone, and he sat me in the 1st booth, nearest the door on the Left-hand side. The Older Guy aka The Server didn't display a Friendly or Welcoming Vibe at all (As it was the 1st time I ate here). Approximately 1 minute later, "A Couple" (Non-African American), walked in, and immediately was greeted with a "Loud & Friendly Welcome", and they were seated in the booth nearest the register, on the left-hand side. After sitting for approximately 5 minutes I was ready to order, but My/Our Server was nowhere to be found. At this time, I noticed a Younger Guy just standing by the front register (doing nothing), so I got up from my set, and asked him..."Can you take orders, or do we have to wait for the Older Guy?"....He replied..."He will come take your order", I said "Ok", and returned to my seat. About a minute later, the Server/Older Guy came from the back (with 4 drinks) and dropped them off at the table where the 4 Caucasian Women were sitting. Then instead of coming to my booth to take my order (as I was next in line), he decided to go and take "The Couple's" order 1st, and walk back towards the Kitchen to put their order in. It was "Very Obvious" what just took place, so I got up out of my seat (which as soon as the Server noticed), he immediately turned, and walked towards me (I guess now he was finally ready take my order). As I approached him, I handed him the Menu and said..."I Was Seated Before Them, So You Should've Taken My Order 1st". He (The Server) had absolutely no response, he just looked at me, turned and walked away. CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER: #1) Let's keep it 100% Real = Him not taking my order 1st was not just an honest mistake, for some reason he felt "The Couple" were more important. (To Be Clear...This was not the 1st time this or something similar has happened to me) #2) If you don't value My/Our business like you do "Others", then you don't deserve My/Our hard earned money. #3) Ironically it's 2024 and..."Driving, Shopping, Running, Walking & Eating While (BLACK) seems to still be an...

UPDATE DEC. 2024 The Hot and Sour Soup I RAVED ABOUT when the restaurant opened... when I went recently was spicy vinegar water and celery pieces.I took two bites and left it.

I asked if management changed and was told NO, but i didnt see ANY of the faces I saw for the first 2 years they were open.

I asked why the change in their Hot and Sour Soup that was consistently full of the good things I expected and was told it changes daily. I will NEVER ORDER THEIR HOT AND SOUR SOUP AGAIN!!

My entree Hunan Beef Was Excellent as previously.

This Review Sevéral Years Previous from Opening

This Oriental restaurant is newly open to Burleson and it is The BEST. Everything i have tasted is soooo good i have been back 4 times in 2 weeks. Their Hot and Sour Soup is excellent!! ( NOT ANY MORE..2025) I have several items circled on their menu to try but so far i keep going back for the Hunan Beef..mmmm good. Their lunch special menu is under $8 and large portion. I ordered Orange Chicken from the childrens menu to try and it was delicious and large pieces of chicken lightly breaded. It is at the Top of my list for Oriental food with freshly prepared, good prices on sizable servings....
