I don't know why I keep going to this location other than it's the only one around near me without driving 30+ minutes. This cotton patch is the worst I've been to. Multiple people I have talked to and in my groups personally eating there get the runs or food poisoning here. I swore it off at this location years ago but tried it out once again, but only because it was chosen by other people. The food isn't horrible, but sometimes it's just off. Like they are trying to add extra salt or flavors to cover up expiration dates, especially on their fish and seafood. But the issue I have other than people getting sick or refusing to eat their food is we came in because they have the kids eat free on Thursdays. Well, we have 3 children, and the management always gave us all 3 for free. A couple of weeks ago, we went in, and did the kids eat free and were told by the server that they couldn't do all 3, that it is 1 child per adult. That is perfectly fine, and we are willing to follow the rules. However, the GM at the time or district manager came over and told us that if we ask for management that they would always accommodate our 3rd child. It turns out to just be up to whoever is working because the GM that was there yesterday scolded us in front of staff saying that they would never do it again and talked down to us like children in the principals office. We didn't come in to do anything wrong or against the rules. The staff then began to treat us differently. They would not return our check to the table. Even after asking, it took 15 min to bring our check back with 2 tables seated other than ourselves. The staff was pointing at us and bringing others to look at us and pointing, making us extremely uncomfortable and making snippy comments amongst themselves. We came in and did as we were told to do by management, then get scolded by another person in front of staff and guests. To then be treated like criminals coming in to take something illegally and be treated like less than a guest at the restaurant. This even all took place after I asked if I could still use my military discount as I was intending on paying separately, but she just looked at me and walked away. This happened several times after as well when asking for other things from that point on. We were always friendly with her and had no complaints until we mentioned the manager telling us to request him for the 3rd child. I don't think I will be returning to this location. The staff was unprofessional at best. The service is always slown even with 1 or 2 tables there. It has always been that way. But we like cotton patch. Just this location is severely lacking in good management. With being consistent with taking their customers as a priority. Because without us you don't have a job. I've seen management treat other people that way at this location, so I can't say that I'm surprised. They need a complete change of staff and management here. Hopefully, getting some people in that actually care about their job and the company they work for and especially its patrons will help fix the issues there because it's a great location. It makes sense why it's always empty but why is it so slow with 5 servers 3 cooks 2 managers and only 2-4 tables every time I go. Impressions are everything especially from staff and this place is lacking in every...
Read moreMondays are chicken fried steak days, seems like each time we go something is always out, MORE often they don’t have sweet potatoes made during dinner hour and say it has to do with the “prepper” or they’re out of a different side one time it was mashed potatoes one time broccoli, or they’re out/dont have a sauce/condiment, sometimes you can tell if you’ve gotten the last bit of a pan because it’s just cold and dry. It’s always something with this location, unfortunately this is the fourth time in a row it’s failed us and we will be driving out of our way to go to the Cleburne location from now on. Takes forever even if they’re not busy and kids are standing around on their phones not paying attention. You’d be lucky to have ONE refill by the time you can catch them at the end of your meal. We used to come here a LOT last year or two before we moved, but something or someone has most definitely changed and it is NOT for the better. We love Cotton patch and are VERY patient and gracious people when it comes to dining in places but you can’t just keep “serving” people like this, it’s gone downhill and it seems that recently it’s worse. Your staff need to be trained better as far as attentiveness, everyone is so kind but the hard truth is they suck at actual serving. Your “prepper” or management or whoever is in charge of things that need to be done to operate smoothly needs to be retrained or just trained in general. I would suggest someone in a management or HR position take whoever has trained or is running the Cleburne location and bring them here to help train the staff and/or managers. Outstanding service and food that comes hot and correct, with all the bread and refills your heart could desire. ✌️p.s. I don’t need your automated response or your link to “loves feedback” because I’ve already done that. I just genuinely hope someone sees this and the other similar comments/reviews and actually does something to help this place because it used to be a loved go-to and now it’s a go away to the next...
Read moreWhen we walked in the atmosphere was very dank. It was not fully seated which made me wonder why it took 10-12 minutes to be acknowledged let alone seated. We noticed, since we had the time, that multiple tables were not cleared off. There was trash on the floor. Our waiter seemed less than thrilled to be waiting on us especially since his cool flip top hairdo was taking up most of his time ( trying to keep it out of his face). He took our drink order and never asked if we would like an appetizer. Instead encouraged us to go ahead and order our meal. When we asked for a few more minutes with the menu, he seemed aggravated. He came back with drinks and took our order where upon he had told me they did not have the turkey and dressing meal. Being disappointed, I ordered chicken fried steak and my husband ordered beef tips. After waiting quite a while we finally got an appetizer I ordered. After quite some more time, we had to ask if my husband could get his salad he ordered. When it finally arrived, the waiter left again and returned 5 minutes later to inform us that they were out of beef tips. He ask my husband if he would like to make another selection. He chose pork chops. Probably another 15 minutes, and we noticed other people who had been seated after us were getting their food, ours finally arrived. It was lukewarm at best. The chicken fried steak batter was undercooked as it was gooey. The rest of our food was ok but not exceptional. We completed our meal. Paid at the table with a hand held debit machine. It was out of paper for a receipt. Also the WHOLE time we were there, which was about an hour and a half, the staff stayed congregated in the corner of the kitchen near their order kiosks. They were chatting, comparing info on their phones and service was null and void. Not returning to this location and wouldn't...
