All types of travelers from near and far Come to get a drink at Orlando's bar On a lovely patch of grass in a land far away Only those who have directions are allowed to drink and stay On the stage is a man with a flawless reputation He's the king of the jam drunk on many situations And his friend stage right is a dobro sensation Almost every single night he gets a standing ovation All across the land they were selling out shows With the sickest and the quickest riffs that everybody knows They chose their name in no time flat They decided on Jamflowman McGrat And as the night goes on and the drinks get stronger The crowd gets drunk and the band gets louder But no one seems to mind as they played their favorite songs Now everybody raise your glass It's time to sing along
In hopped a creature up to the bar With a big head of dreads and a great big jaw His wings were well hidden and his roots locked up tight He'd been flying for months with no end in sight He said "Barkeep now I need to drink my fill Give me sour milk from some big birds bill" And as the night went on he drank and danced and sang Old Frankie was the happiest he'd ever been And in the seat to his left was a mess of a man Haunted by a quest in a foreign land He was the greatest knight the king had ever seen He defeated evil Zeus with his brother Meebs He liked his scotch well aged with some Sour D And was known to hit the dance floor occasionally He jumped right up and said "I love this song" Then Tibby grabbed Frankie and they sang
In the corner of the bar sits a man drinking tea With a whole lotta stories of his time as a thief In his youth he was king with his friend named Dean They take your money take your pride and all your precious things Eventually they made enough to go legit Buying up the corporations that made him sick He retired at the age of 33 And spent the rest of his life doing what he pleased At the middle of the room is a man fulla gloom 'Cause the ladies did not want to dance No matter how hard he tried not a girl alive Would consider his romance With a boat made for tugging and a face full of greens Old Cabbage did not stand a chance But as he heard a song, a familiar tune Him and Carter got up and danced across the room In the land of Beethoven & Greene (Da-da-da-da-da) There's a bar for the flourishing scene (Da-da-da-da-da) In the midst of the mist unseen (Da-da-da-da-da) All the patrons can Relax and Dream (Daaah) Relax and Dream (Da-da-da-da-da) Open your eyes to see (Da-da-da-da-da) Let the beauty all around (Da-da-da-da-da) Fill your heart up with the sound (Daaah) In the land of Beethoven & Greene (Da-da-da-da-da) There's a bar for the flourishing scene (Da-da-da-da-da) In the midst of the mist unseen (Da-da-da-da-da) All the patrons can...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't know how this new restaurant (Burlington-VT) has such a high rate and good comments. I went yesterday and despite the fact that we had to wait for more than an hour to get our appetizers the food was terrible. Every single thing we order was bad bad bad. I am Latina, I know what the dishes in their menu should look and taste like. You might think because of that my expectations are high, well they were not, and I am glad I went not expecting much because what they serve was bad. We order tostones, empanadas and lomo saltado. Everything was super greasy and with the color and smell of the oil that has been used for days and days. Tostones came with a sauce, you are supposed to be able to pick them and dip them into the sauce, well we weren't. The plantains they used were over ripe, full of oil and sliced in different shapes and sizes; it was imposible to pick them and dip them in the sauce. Empanadas had no much flavor, little filling and over fried. Finally Lomo Saltado. Lomo saltado is a peruvian Dish, as indicated in their Menu, make with meet, red onion, tomatoes, cilantro and slices of pepper, with soy sauce and with vinager. Well ours had no tomatoes, no cilantro, no pepper. All the tables around us had to wait more than and hour to see their food, all of them were noticible frustrated with the service. The guy next to us ordered steak, got chicken and the stuff insisted it was steak -they did ended up bringing him a new plate. Everything we ordered was overpriced for what it is. I wish the owner had more respect for the food and culture his...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just wanted to thank Mr. Ryan Dempsey for his hospitality and kindness last night, when my father Eric and I came all the way from Saranac Lake to play open mic. We expected nothing less from such a wonderful musician, person, and host; Ryan you go above and beyond. Everybody else was very kind at Orlando's and made us feel apart of the family.I am naturally a bit shy around people that I am not quite familiar with and would even go as far as to call myself somewhat anti-social. By the end of the night you guys had me smiling, singing and dancing happily with the rest of the crew at Orlando's. The power of the music was evident. We will definetly be returning as the Sonic Cats to play more music. Soo much fun..! Thanks again and next time I really hope you get to hop on keyboard for me. Helping you guys make new music, is like a dream come true. Peace, love and light. Sending the best vibes that I can to you, your family,...
