Santiago's Grill & Seafood — Restaurant in California

If you want to give this place a chance don't get any alcohol. The 'cocktails' were served in water glasses and tasting like they were at least 70% alcohol. Okay, we switch to beer. They confirmed THREE times I wanted an 805 and gave me a Modelo. I feels like a bar that happens to serve food on top of that. Chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil and everything else tasted old and like it was heated to try and cover it. As it cooled it tasted more like it was spoiled. I feel lucky we didn't get food poisoning. And yes I finished the food but I just hate wasted food and wanted to absorb all the alcohol now in my system. I only note this because a place used it against me before insisting empty plates meant we loved it and not that we were concerned leftovers weren't being thrown away. I don't understand why it has such a high rating especially when we overheard everyone around us say they didn't even like the food. You're welcome to take a chance like we did when we saw where it was but I wouldn't come here again...

It has an old cantina ambiance. We first walked in and sat on the bar since there seemed to be like a big meeting so we thought it was reserved which was weird because it was "Thursday Karaoke" but as we chill got a drink... I saw the waiter putting salsa back on the container from a table he just cleaned up and then, served from the same container salsa to a new table! Absolutely gross!

Then, we realized it was a Christmas Party from a random company that decided to do it there because they have a sound system so they hog the microphone for their white elephant activity so at that point no one could do karaoke and the DJ couldn't say no. lol I'm dead...

Since the salsa was out of the equation I order taquitos, I was meeting an old friend and didn't want to be rude so decided on something small, simple and sure... Nope. Super dry and no flavor. Wouldn't go back again. Is the kinda place you will find your...

The restaurant looked nothing like it did in the photos. It was a lot more run down. The place didn’t look clean. There is a bar, but the owner shouldn’t be letting drunk people act a fool near where people are eating. Isn’t that why there’s a bar area and a separate area where you eat? The people drinking also had their children with them who were crying loudly and running around and coming to our table to just stare at us. The owner saw this and didn’t comment on it. The food wasn’t that bad, but this place isn’t somewhere comfortable to eat if you are just looking to have conversation and eat with your loved one. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
