Bottom line up front; if you want good service and want food that you pay for; donāt go here. Hereās the details: All; Iām a person who prefers to write positive reviews because I believe there isnāt enough of them however due to the service I received this evening I was appalled and felt obligated to author this one⦠Our family to include two small children arrived at Cheddars after being notified online that there was no wait time; so instead of our normal choice of Texas Roadhouse which included a 35 min wait; we decided to take our family and late birthday dinner here. Upon arrival; we were sadly informed that there was in fact a 30 min wait. Frustrated, we departed and went to Loweās but received a text stating our table was ready. We quickly returned and were seated. Our waiter walked passed our table a hand full of times stating heād be with us, and about 10 minutes later returned where we provided our entire drink, appetizer, and food order. Our drinks arrived quickly, however we were missing one which we didnāt receive until later; and the appetizer was delivered promptly. My daughterās dinner arrived incorrectly and cold, however the waiter never returned to address the issue; nor did any other food we ordered. We additionally did not have silverware until I asked the hostess so my daughter didnāt have to eat her cold pasta with her hands (as she already started to do). My daughter didnāt like her meal, and over 45 minutes of waiting for the rest of us; I got up and asked the hostess for a manager to make her aware of the problem. Immediately after doing so; our waiter dropped off a pile of silverware (more than enough for 4 people), napkins, and to-go plastic silverware and kept it moving. Once the manager arrived; I brought our concerns to her and explained the issues; furthermore informing her that we just wanted to pay for what we had thus far and were prepared to leave. She offered to go check on our meal and offer a discount which we declined and she departed; not acknowledging any wrong doing even after the table of 5 behind us received their entire meal and they were sat over 10 minutes later than us. Although the one meal we received was incorrect, cold, and without silverware with an inability to ask to correct the issue; we were still expected to pay. My recommendation to families with young children; do not go there. My recommendation to those looking for a job with supervisors who have a poor work ethic and low expectations; Iād surely apply. Cheddars in Camden is far from what it used to be and unfortunately; it was an embarrassment of a late birthday dinner. Take your hard earned...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has got to be the worst food I ever got while eating out⦠like ever. I got the country fried chicken and the whole thing was just nasty to me. It was just completely bland, flavorless, without seasoning. Same thing with the mashed potatoes and gravy. I did not expect the broccoli cheddar casserole to be my favorite part of the meal. After a few bites of the chicken I just gave up on it. The salt and pepper was not helping it at all. Im the type of person to ALWAYS get a to-go box when I have leftovers. I didnt even care for one because I knew that I wasnāt going to be eating any of it. My friend got the cajun pasta with a piece of toast, it was hard as ever. I ate it but i'm not even kidding when I say it has the same texture as the croutons from my saladā¦. Talking about the salad, I ordered a ceaser. It definitely had too much dressing and cheese for the amount of lettuce that came with the bowl (and like three croutons) Iām sure that the taste of the food is not the employeeās fault, they donāt make recipes just follow them. Our server was also kind of inattentive. Iām not really one to complain, I rarely write reviews , only when i want to warn others of completely lacking flavor combinations lol. Regardless though, we didn't really get asked if our food was good or for refills. We ate our meal with no drink until we just caught her. We also werenāt asked about a check or box so we just paid at the table. Thats not to say sheās a horrible server/person, she was very kind, and probably just busy with other ppl. I just hate spending over $20 on food that was never even good start to finish. At the end we were both saying we would have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe family and I went to try out this 'Scratch' kitchen for our first time. This of course is the same bulding where "Old Country Buffett" was before shutting down post Pandemic.
Entering the building you would never know there were previous tenants. Fully renovated and great ambiance. Very comfortable and cozy atmosphere.
The seating process was very fast. Got a table right away when we arrived.
It was quite some time, however, before our server first came to our table to take our drink and appetizer order. It was a good 10 minutes with the restaurant not being busy. Subsequent check-ins from our server were the same with long gaps between check-ins.
The food was just okay, nothing special. I was expecting a lot more unique menu selections from a place boasting themselves as a 'scratch' kitchen. There was nothing on the menu that really stood out or that you couldn't get from any of the other restaurants nearby.
We had to order dessert from the table kiosk since our server was not around. We selected the "To Go" option as to avoid any more delays. A Cookie Ice Cream dessert item was ordered. (Don't remember the name) but when we got home to eat it the cookie was burnt at the bottom so every bite tasted like Charcoal ::yummy:: we just ended up eating the ice cream.
In my opinion this restaurant is a Pass if you are looking to try somewhere new. Don't let the word 'scratch' fool you. There are plenty of other 'scratch' mom and pop restaurants in Delaware that will run circles around this place in taste, quality...
