Perkins was at one time our favorite place to enjoy a meal. It did not matter what time of day or even what Perkins you went to, they were ALL good food! And you did not walk out with a $75.00 bill either. Our favorite was for the longest time was on DelPrado & Cape Coral pky. When we moved we tried the Homestead one and it was just not the same??? Price was still good, but the quality of the food seamed to go down. (around 2012) We have tried several times but portions are not the same as they use to be, taste is just not the same. Oh DO not get me wrong it is not just the Homestead one, it appears that the grade of food has gone down, in all of Perkins Restaurants that we have tried. (We keep hoping that "this one " will be better.) We were Just at the one on DelPrado in Cape Coral next to Wal-Mart the other day, and sadly our turkey clubs were sadly made. Mine was even made on the wrong bread, neither of us asked for them to be toasted, but we had no big deal with that. We were not asked, I guess we assumed if you wanted your club to be toasted you would need to ask for that? Each contained three slices of bread (of course) my wife's only had a very small portion of turkey and a few bacon straps on the top section, one slice of leafy lettuce on each level. We both asked you not tomatoes and were asked if "fries okay with that?" Not even knowing that there may have been another option. We are not the type of people who have the the money to eat out alone, nor do we want to, but when we do We want a place with good home cooked food, not full of sodium or grease, like a fast food joint might have. Now these days with Covid-19, we go out even less! It is not even about money (yes of course it matters), but we enjoy just having a good time with each other, no loud music or crazy stuff going on. We hope that Perkins Restaurant will work on the quality of the food, so couples like us (40 years married) have a nice place to enjoy going to eat again....
Read moreI understand that today is mother’s day and I expected to wait in any restaurant we went to. we waited 30 minuets to get seated. We were ok with that. However the food came out one hour and twenty minutes after being seated. Once the food came out, half of the food was cold. We were a party of 6 so 4 meals were ok. The two mothers that were in our party didn’t eat breakfast. The food was unacceptable. I wasnt sure if the waitress was new or not but that’s no excuse for not at least communicating with us and making sure we had our muffins to hold us over or at least saying it’s going to be a little longer than normal wait. Maybe an offer of a couple extra muffins would of stopped my children from complaining that they were so hungry and questioning why are we waiting so long. The manager was working very hard between seating people and taking orders. I did express my dissatisfaction. I also told him this wasn’t the first time this happened to us. One of the other waitresses said it’s one of the cooks who’s to blame for the slow service and cold food. I don’t believe that entirely. It’s a team effort and they should be working as a team. The manager did try to make it right and didn’t charge us. I requested to pay several times. I appreciated him not charging us because this was not what I intended at all. I would of really hoped for better communication and service than a free meal. I will never go to Perkins again! There are so many good privately owned places to choose from. Again, you need to have a manager from corporate inspect and help run...
Read moreMy son and I occasionally like to go to your typical Diner type restaurants, although I find it very difficult to compare the diners in Florida to those on the East Coast New York, New Jersey, Etc. We went to Perkins for a quick and easy dinner, and although this is not a diner it has a pretty extensive menu. Biggest problem was that they had no pancakes this evening. The batch was recalled. My son ordered the French toast and was very pleased with it. I ordered the turkey dinner oh, and it was fair. I'd ask for gravy on the side and my plate was smothered with gravy. I'd ask for the sauteed spinach, and had to tell the server that it was extremely bitter asked if it was frozen perhaps a freezer burn was the reason, but she told me that they do it fresh steemit and then sauteed it. She offered to bring me another vegetable which was there green beans with bacon. It's a canned green bean and very overcooked but the bacon is very undercooked. The stuffing for the turkey was not moist but yet it was sticky. Our server was very attentive, and wanted to make things right for us, but a server cannot control what is going on in the kitchen. I give this a 3-star because our dinner was okay but definitely not something I'd want to go back for. Franchise restaurants are the hardest to judge, and we may go back and try...
