McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Cape Girardeau

We've been regularly going to this McAlister's location for nearly two years and we've consistently been happy with the quality and service here. If you're gluten free, you'd have a difficult time finding any other restraunt in Cape that has more gluten free options than McAlister's Deli. You can ask to substitute gluten free bread on any sandwich. They also have great salads and spuds, so most of their menu can be made gluten free. Their app is really handy if you want to check menu items for potential allergens. As with any restaurant, there's potential for cross contamination in the kitchen but we've never gotten sick after eating here. Way over priced for their food and drinks. Their ice tea is no better than the tea I get from Rhodes. In fact, I prefer the tea from Rhodes or Sonic than the tea from here.

As for the food, i was greatly disappointed. They were not busy yet didnt get my order correct. I ordered a salad with soup. Soup I ordered was broccoli cheese but they gave me loaded potato soup. It has bacon in it and I am highly allergic to pork!!!! So I couldnt even eat my over priced soup! Since it was carry out, I didnt realize I had to the wrong soup until I returned to work where I could eat. Then I didnt have the time to contact them about my order.

Every time I go here there is a issue. I got a sandwich and told them no bacon and it had bacon on it (I do not eat pork at all) took it back to the front and they literally pulled the bacon off and put a new piece of cheese on it and retoasted it and brought it back to me with bacon still on it and now the meat over cooked. Took it back and the manager told me she was told they remade the sandwich completely and the piece of bacon on it just a piece left on the grill.
