The room was very clean and the employees were very friendly and helpful. As we were leaving we actually had a maintenance man that was passing us in the hallway tell us, "he hoped we had enjoyed our stay and to have a safe trip home." The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant as well. The breakfast was pretty basic, but is what is to be expected right now with the Covid restrictions. Even though, they had a nice selection of cereal, muffins, and bagels and the coffee was very good. We were there visiting a very ill family member at Southeast Hospital and was asked by the staff the morning we had checked out if we had gotten a discount since we were there visiting a patient. We told her we had gotten the reservation online and she said she would call them and at least ask them about it. We did call them and explain we had stayed the night before because of a patient in the hospital and we were told since we had made our reservation online they couldn't give us a discount for this. So for anyone staying there because of a family member in one of the hospitals I would call when making the reservation to see how you would go about getting a "patient" discount. One extra plus for the room is I have a very bad back and ALWAYS dread not sleeping in my own bed, but I have to say the bed I slept in was very nice! I was able to sleep and better yet, I was able to get out of the bed the next morning WITHOUT the help of anyone! The room did have a weird smell because of what appeared to be a new entertainment center that was made of particle board and it had that new uncomfortable chemical smell that sometimes comes along with that type of furniture. I would definitely recommend the hotel, but ask about the "patient" discount upon making the reservation and/or checking in. I also hope you do not have the new furniture smell that came along with our room. But all in all a pretty nice stay considering the reason we had to be in Cape Girardeau, MO in the...
Read moreThe company demanded I authorize a "damage deposit" on my credit card. Why? I assume because they have issues with rowdy, damaging, miscreants using the property. Meanwhile, the evidence of smoking, drinking, partying creeps REMAINS in the room I was given: the sickly sweet, putrid stench of "puke and smoke killer" assailed me as soon as I unlocked the door. Great! Ban smoking! But to use the cheapest, most disgusting product to "clean up", and charge the previous guests $250 for the privilege of sickening future guests is cutting off one's nose to spite one's face. In all, this overpriced pretentious brand produces disgusting product (I won't even go into the piles of long black hair in the bathroom) and expects me to pay double of what Red Roof and Motel 6 charges me. Add on the charge for a dog? I wouldn't recommend this entire brand, let alone this one property. I'm deeply dissatisfied and deeply disgusted by the quality/value of this brand, Drury, that claims to be "top drawer". Compared to Red Roof and even Motel 6, this brand gets a solid zero from me. UPDATE Wow. A hundred and thirty bucks of bait-and-switch gets me raisin bran and yogurt for breakfast? Really? Talk about maximizing the bottom line. Buy...
Read moreThe staff was super friendly, especially Debbie. We had a clean and comfortable room. The room had a desk which is always nice. There were also many easily accessible outlets in the room which is always a huge bonus.
The refrigerator was very small with no freezer section and I could not locate a means to adjust the temperature. The website stated there was a microwave in the room but ours didn't have one. I didn't mention this situation to desk because we happened to not need a microwave on this stay but that is very unusual for us and we book based on that information.
The only other negative was minor but a little annoying was the desk chair was very low and we couldn't adjust it. We were in room 210 and forgot to mention to front desk.
They offered an expanded continental breakfast including waffles, boiled eggs along with hot and cold cereal, breads and fruit. The area was clean, well stocked, and well organized.
There was an outdoor pool but it was still closed for the season.
I rated this stay all 5 stars even though we had the missing microwave and the chair because everything else was so much above expectations.
We hope to get an opportunity to stay here...
