Highly recommend! We got 6 different flavors: pineapple fog, peach tea ,mango sticky rice, chocolate, banana chocolate, and butter pecan. You can tell what each of the flavors is on a blind taste test other than the butter pecan so I'll start with tgat one first.
Butter pecan- creamy. To me it was what I crave when I want vanilla ice cream but better.
Banana chocolate- very banana-y even in texture. SWEET, just like a ripe banana should be , but rounded flavor.
Chocolate - is chocolate. Cant go wrong.
Mango sticky rice- is exactly like the dessert but the texture is what you're paying for. It warped my mind because the flavor was so indicative of something familiar but the texture didn't match. Amazing!
Peach tea- this one was probably my favorite. My partner said it tasted like a peace tea. I've never had that but it did remind me a little like a snapple peach tea. It has a strong earthy green tea flavor but the peach is refreshing. It paired so perfectly with the cone to taste like a peach cobbler. More of a cold day/ comfy vibes.
Lastly pineapple fog- it was refreshing. Great for a summer day. TO ME, it tasted like it had guava swirled in. That part reminded me of a jumex guava drink both in texture and taste.
The workers were bubbly and helpful.
Their cones are gluten-friendly with possibility of cross contamination. The servers explained it perfectly and I took the risk. Will find out how friendly it...
Read moreThis is a different ice cream experience. Their flavors are unique and the combinations are original. Their MO is a small window and outdoor seating. I missed the experience of coming into an ice cream shop and exploring flavors. You almost feel rushed to just choose a couple of flavors and pick something to eat when you stand at a window.
I also felt that the ice cream was less an ice cream and more a dessert experience. This doesn't take anything away from the ice cream itself but it is very filling and not something I'd want to get after a meal.
I got the ube and the creme fraiche and clementine cake flavors. Contrary to what the other reviews say, I wasn't a big fan of the ube, even though I was so looking forward to it. It was a little bitter for my palate. The creme fraiche was decent - tangy and sweet, just like a sweet orange/lemon cake. I tried some of the other seasonal flavors - baklava cheesecake, pandan pistachio and the black sesame and those flavors were definitely not something I wanted to have!
I consider this chain to be unique and I'll give them their due. Their ice cream is good, just not something I would like for ice cream. I'll stick to my Salt and...
Read moreStella Jean’s Ice Cream was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Let me start with the customer service—it was beyond awful. The staff seemed uninterested, dismissive, and downright rude. They acted like doing their job was some kind of punishment. I had to wait an eternity just to be acknowledged, and when I finally was, their attitude made me regret staying.
As for the ice cream? Disgusting. The flavors were bizarre in the worst way—overly artificial, unbalanced, and downright gross. They somehow managed to make the simplest flavors taste like a science experiment gone wrong. Compared to Jeni’s, which serves rich, creamy, and imaginative creations, Stella Jean’s doesn’t even deserve to be in the same conversation. Jeni’s has bold yet refined flavors that actually taste like they were made with care, whereas Stella Jean’s feels like they just threw random ingredients together without even tasting them first.
Save your money and your taste buds. Stella Jean’s is all hype with absolutely no substance. You’re better off at Jeni’s or literally anywhere else that knows how to treat customers and serve...
