Tucked away in the picturesque town of Carmel by the Sea, Terry's Lounge at the Cypress Inn promises an experience that's nothing short of delightful. Now, the Prawn Martini here is a showstopper. Presented in a martini glass, the prawns are succulent, fresh, and perfectly seasoned, their natural sweetness harmoniously juxtaposed with a tangy cocktail sauce that has just the right kick. It's a dish that looks as good as it tastes, with the prawns artfully arranged to tempt and tantalize.
Pairing it with a glass of champagne was an excellent decision. The effervescence of the bubbly enhanced the freshness of the prawns, and each sip after a bite was like a palate cleanser, prepping my taste buds for the next flavorful morsel. The champagne's crisp notes were a sublime match for the Prawn Martini, making the combination heavenly.
In conclusion, Terry's Lounge offers not just a meal, but an experience. The Prawn Martini paired with a glass of champagne is a must-try, a symphony of flavors that dance gracefully on the palate. A visit here is sure to leave you with cherished memories and a longing to return. Highly...
Read moreLocated in the historic Cypress Inn Hotel in Downtown Carmel. Terry's Lounge is named after Doris Day's son, whom I had the pleasure of meeting multiple times before his passing. This is a well maintained upscale hotel from around the 1930's. I have been frequenting this bar for many years with my immediate family, pets and close friends. The hotel is completely dog friendly along with the Terry's Lounge. Bring your well behaved pup(s) for a expertly crafted cocktail, enjoy the nice upscale bar menu while watching the hotel guests, thier children and fur babies returing from a day in Downtown Carmel. Introverts beware, because when you're at Terry's Lounge you will always end up in friendly conversations with strangers about their travels and their dogs. Always friendly attentive staff, excellent quality food for lunch and dinner on the menu with beautiful "Moorish Casbah Chique" surroundings. Bonus: Doris Day memorabilia is tastefully displayed...
Read moreMy husband and I found this gem in charming Carmel-by-the-Sea and celebrated our birthdays with brunch. The food was very good and there was a great selection of delicious sounding cocktails (of course we couldn't try them all but the ones we did try were very good, with the exception of the Honey Bee which was just a bit one dimensional. It wasn't bad, just a little boring).
The service was by far the best part of our visit - our waiter, Esteban, was very attentive, friendly, and professional (and gave us ice cream and berries on the house). We also ended up sitting at the table next to Denny and his wife and they personally thanked us for coming and asked a little bit about us when we got up to leave, which was really, really nice.
We were also pleasantly surprised by the bill-we got far more for the same price we pay on a typical night out in Morgan Hill Great vibe and decorations and not pretentious at all. We will...
