The American Art Gallery — Attraction in Carmel-by-the-Sea

Absolutely love this gallery and everyone involved in it. Just happened to wander in off the street on a random weekend getaway not even really looking for art. We loved the artists and the gallery staff. Charlie was very delightful when we wandered in and explained their curation process to us while helping us decide which artists fit our taste and aesthetic best. We ended up curating three pieces from them. They brought the pieces out to us and installed them after having them framed. Even when the frames weren't quite right, they took them back to the framers for us for repair and reinstalled them. Cute place with a very informative and kind gallery director. The art is large and colorful which was nice. The art itself was ok, I didn't walk out feeling like, wow, I was moved, or that resonates in a profound way. The prices are very inflated as well, but to be fair, it is art and is subjective.
