Crazy D's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Carson City

Updated Review: The owner went out of his way to fix the issues we had our first visit. Our 2nd visit, I had the combo #1 & so did my kiddos. All 3 orders were made correctly & very tasty. My husband got the Crazy Mac with added jalapeños & he loved it. The cole slaw was tasty also. I tried the peach crazy soda this time & really liked it too. My kiddos got the lemonade again this time & it was tasty! The owner made sure it was fixed & my girls were very happy. The tables were clean this time which I was very impressed with because they were slammed!!!! I was also very impressed with Kalynne who was working at the register. She handled the crowd like a pro. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable & just plain fun to talk to. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The food was great, everything was made properly, service was wonderful & the restaurant was clean. All of this plus the owner going out of his way to listen to his customers & make things right, makes this place deserve 5 stars. We will definitely be back!!!

Previous Review: My family tried this place yesterday for the first time. The food was pretty good flavor wise, but they did not put grilled onions on my Spicy Smash which I was bummed about. The Crazy Fries were tasty & made correctly. Our daughters had the chicken tenders which they enjoyed. We ordered 2 lemonades which tasted like water with a hint of lemon. That irritated me because the lemonade should taste like lemonade especially at $3 for a small cup. The tables were sticky & not clean. I would have understood this if it had been busy when we went, but there was only one other person there when we got there. So, no excuse to make sure the tables aren’t properly cleaned. Overall, the food tasted good, but one order wasn’t made correctly, the lemonade tasted like water basically, & the tables were sticky. At the prices they charge, I expected my food to taste good (it did), my food to be made properly (1 order was not), the drinks to taste good (they didn’t) & the restaurant to be clean (it wasn’t).

This is not a review about the food, although if you like chicken and mac and cheese this just might be your place. This review is about something much more important to me than the food because there are thousands of places a person can eat food, yet very few places that I go do I ever feel better than I did before I arrived. A smile from someone can restore hope that good still exists and that there are kind people still left in the world. The smile that did this for me was from the extremely beautiful young woman that was working today, Sat the 20th of Sept 2025. Her smile made all the chaos and the troubles of life disappear in an instant. Her kindness is like that of an Angel, at least that's how she appeared to me two times now. I decided to give this place a try after a long time of not having it. Our combo #1 and combo #2 order were pretty good, but unfortunately the fries were not crispy and tasted a bit stale and soft? The Mac and cheese was cold when we got home (it shouldn't get cold/room temp within a 10min drive, right??) Chicken retained heat at least! When I called to inquire on the Mac n cheese, I asked if it's supposed to be served hot or cold and was told that it's supposed to be hot but she didn't seem too concerned. Maybe the warmer is broken? Seeing as I used to work food service for almost 10 years, It's concerning to hear the lack of concern or urgency in her voice. Probably won't come back again?

Service is meh and food temperatures varied more than Katy Perry singing her line "you're hot then you're cold".
