CAVA — Restaurant in Chadds Ford Township

After hearing rave reviews from others and driving past nearly every day, I finally took the dive and tried Cava. I was not disappointed!

As another addition to the Chipotle-esque "Build Your Own Bowl" style restaurant, Cava is a Mediterranean dream. The atmosphere is hip, yet approachable. This location boasts abundant seating with indie music at a reasonable volume overhead. (Fellow fat folks/accessibility warning: the bench style seating is placed extremely close to the immovable tables, you will have to sit in a chair. The chairs are wide, however!)

The girl behind the counter cheerfully explained the process and identified any ingredients I asked about. There are small stickers on the sneeze guard explaining what every item is.

I made a custom bowl and enjoyed it thoroughly! Items of note were the braised lamb and falafel, both extremely flavorful. Lamb was mildy spiced with no gamey flavor and a deliciously tender shredded texture from the braising process. The vegetables were fresh and offered a bright pickled contrast to the rich meat. This is a meal that doesn't give you that post-lunch "I need a nap" feeling, which is always appreciated!

For less than $16 for my bowl, complimentary pita, and a large fountain drink, I can definitely see Cava of Glen Mills becoming a regular spot for me. IF I COULD GIVE MORE THAN 5 STARS, I WOULD HAVE DONE THAT!!! Not a biased review I PROMISE! I am a huge Cava fan, I have been in many Cava's stores, and chose to eat Cava, every time I travel, and what to eat some fresh and healthy food. But I haven't been in a store like this for a while- and not just comparing to other Cavas I have been in, but as a restaurant in general! This store is being managed amazingly, with amazing managers, and workers who will always accept you with a smile! Probably one of the best customer's oriented places I have ever been to (and trust me I have been in fancy places in my life with high service, to compare it to). Let me add that every time I am there, the food is always fresh and delicious, and I am one of these customers, who comes late at night before the place is closed, and when the food is usually not so-called the best, but this is not the case here. Also, the place is so clean, that you can eat from the bathroom floor, and you will be fine- they clean it every hour. It's literally what the sighn there says, and you can ensure that! The food is great and we usually enjoy coming here, not this time. The two employees at the front were very rude that we decided to walk out and gave them a thumbs down.

We used to get the chicken bowl every time, which indeed gives a good portion of meat, but this time we wanted to try the lamb meatballs. If we would’ve known they only give you 4 of those little suckers, we would not have asked for that! What a sad bowl.

So I politely asked the woman if we could get chicken in our bowl instead… She said that it would be extra. I said no, not extra meat, but chicken instead. She hardly spoke English, then the other girl came over. I then asked the same exact thing, but they just stared at me and she also said that it’ll cost extra for my request. Very strange. I don’t think they know what “instead” or “change” means.

So we were pretty disappointed and because of this, we will not be coming to this location again. The employees obviously don’t care too much about giving the customers what...
