Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Chandler

Got this on a whim because we're trying every chicken place in existence before we die.

The food is really 3-stars, but the service, speed, and price bump it to 4-stars in my opinion.

I compare tenders everywhere I go. They're more delicate than pieces, and the hallmark of how a joint treats its food. The tenders here have a breading with an EXCELLENT texture. Probably in my top 3 for crispiness and just the right amount of oil.

However, I wish I could say the rest followed suit - it simply doesn't.

The chicken itself was pretty dry. Not "2 day old reheated KFC" dry, but not like what you'd expect freshly fried tenders to be. The breading itself also lacked punch/flavor. Very little in the way of seasoning or salt which really left the whole thing tasting somewhat bland.

The sides were okay. Mac & Cheese is better than some other places but not others. Mashed Taters were decent. The biscuits have a unique honey-laden flavor and are incredibly light and airy. You could probably eat a dozen and barely feel it. Those were a highlight of the whole meal.

For $9-10 a person, it's hard to complain too much though. What you get is a darn good deal for what it is. Just don't go in expecting...

I if I could give it no stars I would first off they didn't have but chicken to choose from and they were out of a lot of the size but you top it off they did not give me back my ATM card as it was kind of hectic in the Drive-Thru but the boys that kept my ATM card took it home with them and purchased a bunch of games on the internet and played them Xbox I believe it was I went back there to try to get my bank card back no no luck and I believe it was boy still work there first day I went to talk to someone there they are very rude making jokes telling each other to shut up it was so unprofessional every time I went they would tell me to come back when the manager was there I work so it's kind of difficult I guess it's at meet up with her or him but I left my number and no one calls me so I had an awful experience at this Church's Chicken be careful and don't give anybody here credit card bank card ATM card anyting make sure you get yours back don't make the same mistake I did I ended up being a...

Their biscuits are usually nice and non-burned. Same with the chicken. So many of the Church's we have been to have overcooked, dry chicken and biscuits.

The people who work here, though, have horrible customer service skills. We came in one time and ordered our chicken to eat there. We had to wait for another batch of biscuits that were cooking, however. So we sat down to eat our chicken after paying for everything and they said biscuits will be X minutes.

2 more ppl came in and ordered biscuits after us. They almost gave the first guy our biscuits once they came out of the oven until I said, we are waiting for ours...then the manager or shift leader, maybe? said, who was here first? I couldn't believe it...we are sitting down eating, he is standing there waiting for his food and you can't figure out who was here first?

Then that guy got mad at the workers for their ineptness, also. No one apologized to any of us or tried to make it right to anyone. Huge circus, no...
