Port of Subs used to put lots of meat on their sandwiches. Now it is a single, very thin slice of meat. Subway has more meat on their sandwiches than this place, and I can get a footling for $5 there. I get 8" for $8 at Port of Subs. I guess you are paying for the name... Or the memories of how the subs used to be.
The bread is still amazing. I love their sourdough, but their white bread is also very good, and very soft. I always get the cookies too, which are definitely amazing.
The mid day rush is also pretty crazy. Lots of hospital workers coming over so plan on at least 15-20 minutes of waiting in line. That isn't terrible, but just make sure you are planning ahead if you want to go there for a 30 minute lunch break.
Finally, I know it is summer, but their AC is terrible. At least 85° inside. Ice cold drinks help with that, but you definitely sweat while you eat. Get it to go and you...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE! I had already paid for my food. The woman behind the counter was making a meatball sub for a customer and she placed the meatball sandwich in the panini maker using a spatula and once the sub was done she pulled it out and she scraped the remaining sauce off with the spatula. She then tried to get the sauce off the spatula by dragging across the trash can. She then placed the spatula back on the counter to use it again without washing or getting a new spatula. This was a muscle memory reaction. I will not be going back there. I threw my sandwich in the trash once I got outside. This is unacceptable and disgusting. @Ryan below is correct the slicer is set to very thin so you barely get any meat/cheese even when you ask for double. They are cheating you out of food and charging you any from $1 to $10 on extra stuff depending on the size of the sandwich....
Read moreFood was good but service was terrible. I called to place my order over the phone and they pretended like that was new to them or a surprise. The lady on the phone said “you can order online” to which I said “can I order with you?” she said “it would be easier to order online” and I said “so I’m not allowed to order over the phone?” She stammered for 10 seconds and said “let me get someone” and hung up. I redialed in hopes it was just a new girl who didn’t know how to work the phone, but there was no answer. I ended up just ordering online but I felt I was blatantly ignored and I was an inconvenience by providing business to this establishment. This location will not be getting another penny from me. My after thought: what if I didn’t know how to use the internet or I didn’t have WiFi? How would people be able to order??...
