I decided to try the Very Veggie Burger. Online, their website says you can get a Veggie Burger combo (fries and a drink) for $12. My Bill ended up to be $15 exactly..when I asked why, they said the prices weren't accurate on the website and that the owner takes a while to update things there..
I asked if I could add other "free items" to the burger, the clerk said yes, so I did. When my burger came out, I had a few bites and then realized it only had on it the couple of items I added to it...I let the clerk know, and he said he'd get me the sprouts, avocado, cucumber, sauce, etc. out quickly on some tin foil. I wasn't going to dismantle the burger at this point...I guess I was hoping for a new burger, the way it should have been to begin with!?
The fries were pretty good until I realized most of them were just the little bits of fries, you know, sort of hard to eat that way..
Food prep people were walking from behind that prep area and opening the front door to the restaurant with their black gloves on..regardless if they took them off after that, it's just not a clean look if you ask me..
lastly, the bathrooms don't have paper towels (just an air hand drying machine), so be prepared to wash your hands and then have to grab the door handle, sort of defeats the purpose, for everybody...
I guess this will not be my new...
Read moreThe food was okay, but not special considering it’s a burger joint where the burgers aren’t special. Neither were the fries.
I tried the sweet potato fries and regular fries. My order of sweet potato fries was filled with lots of thin skin and lacked the flesh of the potato. Unlike regular potatoes, the skin of sweet potatoes is extremely chewy and very difficult to bite through, especially when fried. The regular fries were okay, but many were saturated with grease, so they had a soggy texture, which is not my preference. I prefer crispy fries.
The service was okay, but I observed several concerning actions by staff: 1) a staff member cough in her hands with gloves on then proceeded to carry an order to a customer without changing gloves; 2) a person behind the counter tucked his shirt into his pants (or scratched himself in the manner) with gloves on, then continued making food without changing his gloves; and 3) the cashier handled food right after accepting payments from customers without washing his hands or putting on gloves then left the register to handle an order.
The restaurant is in a great location, which aids in its ability to attract customers. Because I walked from my hotel, I don’t know what the parking is like for the restaurant.
The area is nice and...
Read moreMy experience with buns was a few months ago. Living in the area and being hungry with my friends, we decided to check out Buns. I did not want to spend much on a burger so I decided on just fries which ended up being ridiculously expensive for just an order of fries. Fine, maybe they must be good then but man I was wrong. They were over salted and I could barely finish them since the taste was just that bad probably from the salt. Already unhappy with my purchase I decided to accept my losses and went home where I proceeded to soon after vomit all the fries from yours truly Buns. Here I was, however many dollars poorer, sick, and now hungry once more since my previous meal was now down the toilet drain. Thank you Buns for one of the most dissatisfying meals I've eaten
Edit: I have returned after a two year hiatus only to learn my gracious mistake. The fries this time were not as bad and I believe I may have made a mistake. I will meet in the middle with 3 stars as my previous experience still stands. Though, the restaurant has been reformed, at least in my mind, and in my stomach
Edit 2: It has been an hour since I made my previous edit. And I take it back. My stomach is hurting again, and though the price wasn’t as bad, my spirit has faltered and my...
