Went to try this for restaurant week. Service is excellent, very good waiter and staff. The amount and quality of food for $55 was poor. Cornbread for the the table was good, went downhill from there. The soup was a small portion but pretty good.Then the main (steak was well prepared but a flank steak and small portion with mash potatoes). My wife had the fish that was offered for restaurant week, it was a filet, but still had some bones in it, and tasted terrible. She took a bite and thought it was very poor. I then tried it and thought the same. I love fish too, but this was awful. Then the desert was a scoop of gelato which also was just ok. Nothing special, no one finished it. I went to see if the restaurant was going to be worth the pricey menu and come back, but it proved to not be worth it. So many better restaurants for the price. They do have a large good selection of non alcoholic drinks which my wife likes as she is pregnant. The cocktail lounge looks like nice and had a good ambiance, but I found the drinks to be expensive and not strong. Overall for the price, they need to up to food/ portions. Even with it being restaurant week the bill for 2 was still $210 after tip. I got one cocktail and my wife 2 non alcoholic drinks. You'd expect to at least be full or enjoy all...
Read moreValentine's Day! 2025 -Booked weeks in advance. -Stood waiting over 5 minutes while they fumbled for the reservation. -Were ushered to the back around the corner to a back table. -Offered filtered tap water, sparkling, or still. Sprung for the sparkling. 15 minutes later, "sorry sir, but all we had was club soda from the bar". Not a deal breaker. -Ordered cocktails. Arrived 30 minutes later. Cub Scouts Honor. Delivered by the manager. "sorry sir, we will comp these for you". Great. Things are looking up. -Food was less than impressive. Ordered from the vague prepared Valentine's Day menu. I must of missed that memo. -30 minutes later we had had enough of these proceedings and asked for the check and will take the dessert traveling. -Now it gets interesting... -No drink comps. -20% Large Party Grat. Gulp! I knew I had put on weight, but not 20%... -Party of 2 at a table with separate zip codes and a bill just south of $400. *Local resident of 35 years. Needless to say we know this area quite well and what to expect within reason. With the plethora of restaurants here in our beautiful city of Charleston, in my humble opinion, I'd make this your...

07/17/2025 - Gabrielle - on King Street I would give the service and staff a solid 10. The ambience of the dining room, lobby, entrance, etc. rates a 10+++. It is so elegant and chic!
Now for the menu choices, I was disappointed. We are both big meat eaters and the choices were very few. There were more seafood and fish items but nothing much for a meat-eater. You really only have the choice of a chicken breast or a fillet. Too bad. And the only sides are what comes with the item and that is pretty scant. The food was bland and nothing to get excited about. Needs to offer a bigger menu and some side options.
So, for us: Service - 10 Ambiance - 10++++ Food - 6 or 7
Would we go back? If the food could improve and more choices, I would go back in a second. The place is beautiful and very special. But as it is now, I would only go back to sit in the bar or lounge and soak up the atmosphere. I would not eat there again. This is a great place to stop and have a drink before going...
