I ordered 50 wings from a Gilroy’s Pizza Pub menu offered to me at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the Historic District. On the menu it stated that 50 wings cost $30. This was not a promotional price, it was the regular price. This menu had no date of issue, or disclaimer stating that the menu is subject to change at anytime. Aside from the order being 15 minutes late, the price charged was $15 more than expected. After reviewing the receipt, I found that I was charged for one 30 wing order and one 20 wing order. This was the cause of the price increase. I immediately telephoned Gilroy’s Pizza Pub assuming that this was an error. I was subjected to extraordinarily unsatisfactory phone etiquette from both the manager and his employee. I was cursed at and called racial epithets. To add insult to injury they refused to either correct their mistake or honor the menu we ordered from. The explanation that I was given was that the menu was over a year old and a new one had been issued. I explained incessantly that we were given this menu by the front desk of the DoubleTree by Hilton. We ordered 50 wings under the auspices that the cost was $30, had we known this wasn’t the correct price our order may have differed. This was the most horrifically traumatizing encounter I’ve had ordering a pizza. I will never again order from this place and neither should you. I would give them negative 5 stars if I could.

For a quick bite, I'll recommend it. However, it wasn't the best pizza, but I can say the wings save the overall scoring. I got the special large pizza with wings, and it was about $40. A little over price for a one typing pizza. Wasn't nothing special, I wish the pizza had more flavor. Maybe some oregano or pepper flake will save it. The Buffalo wings were excellent, and spice level , taste, and flavor were all there. Highly recommend. I gave service a 3 star because in the middle of ordering my pizza, the worker walked away to assist with a to go order, I personally feel that person could have waited because I was in the middle of ordering, yes he apologized but if he did one thing at a time It wouldn't have upset me. I think a restaurant that ignores the in-house diners and focuses on going out orders. Makes me feel as if I'm not of value. Overall, if you need pizza, give them a try

Small little restaurant to get some well-made and delicious pizza. They have a good selection of pizza sizes and toppings with some great prices to then as well. Each pizza is freshly made per order and is of good quality. The dining area is pretty clean, and the walls are decorated with stickers, writings, and art. It makes for a neat atmosphere, but seating is limited. They do also have a deal for Citadel Cadets (get a large pizza for the price of a small one), and that makes the pizza all the more budget-friendly. Overall a great place to pick up good pizza that's not from a chain.

DO NOT GO TO GILROY'S. EVER. IT IS UNSAFE AND DISGUSTING.

On Sunday 5/5 around 1am (technically Monday AM) myself and group of post-wedding attendees (probably around 10 of us) went to Gilroys to have some late night pizza and a beer. What ensued was some of the worst behavior I've ever witnessed in a restaurant (and I own restaurants for a living). One of the guests with us was a doctor who had to console a staff member in the kitchen who appeared highly frightened and borderline in shock. Meanwhile I called 911 and we immediately left the restaurant.

After ordering @ $70 worth of pizza and bread sticks myself and one of the female guests were directed to the upstairs bar to have a beer while we waited on our food. When we entered the upstairs the music was off and we were greeted with a "what are you doing up here" look. There were people obviously on drugs sitting at the bar, one of whom I found out to be homeless. Additionally when my female friend went to the bathroom I kept a close eye on the door, as I was concerned some of the men at the bar were considering going in the bathroom she was in. Further, when my female company left the bathroom she witnessed the bartender engaging in a sexual act with one of the guests in the back hallway. I felt unsafe and disgusting in your bar.

When we came down one of the servers asked why we did not have a beer and we told them it was very uncomfortable upstairs. The server went upstairs to see what was going on. She did not come back for 10 mins or so and our pizza was cooking so we did not think anything of it. When she did finally return she was convulsing, crying, and screaming. Apparently the men upstairs locked her in a closet and told her they were going to harm her. The doctor in our group immediately started doing breathing exercises with this server. I told the cashier we'd like a full refund and to leave. The cashier said our food was almost ready and she'd be happy to comp it. I truly didn't want any food from this disgusting scene. She refunded the @ $70 or so and handed us the recently finished food and profusely apologized.

There's no apology for behavior like this. You are running a terribly unsafe establishment. I can't imagine in my life how anyone could let their business get to this point. I've never written a negative review of another restaurant out of professional courtesy. Today that changes because you were the single worst experience I've ever had in any restaurant in my...

Literally the worst pizza in town. There is only one reason this place stays in business: they are one of the few places that stay open past 2am so all of the drunk people buy their garbage pizza.

I have been in Charleston a few years and I frequently walk around downtown. I have not walked past Gilroy's once without seeing some stinky hippie sitting on the sidewalk by the door. I have even heard them saying absurd things to myself and others around.

The guy commenting about the staff being pedophiles is correct. It is very common that some young female will go to the back to flash so she can get a free pizza. Happens all the time. Ask College of Charleston students. Everyone knows about it.

Lastly I will comment about their pizza. The guy commenting below saying that their food is atrocious is not exaggerating. I used to work at a pizza place years ago in high school. We were on a budget but still produced quality pizza that I can still say to this day is the best pizza I've ever had, and anyone who I have ever made a pizza for while I worked there was amazed at how good it was. As for Gilroy's--This place disgusts me. Their crust is basically cardboard, the cheese is very very low quality, and the sauce is also very bad. I honestly think a 5 year old child could make a better pizza with a lunchables kit from the grocery store.

I will not even eat at Gilroy's after a night out on the town. There have been several occasions where I had non-local friends who wanted to go there late at night and I discouraged them by saying that I would rather starve and go home then eat Gilroy's pizza.

If you want the best cheap pizza in town go around the corner to Andolini's. I can honestly say it is just as good as the pizza I used to make when I worked at a pizza joint.

I have also heard that Monza is pretty good if you want dine-in pizza. I believe it is a little more expensive though.

My final thoughts are that I am wondering if the owner of Gilroy's knows that his pizza is absolute trash. He probably doesn't care. I don't know if it is the owners fault or incompetent employees. But one thing is for certain, You should not spend your money at Gilroy's. They do...

If 0 stars was an option I would pick 0. Disgusting pizza the only reason I ever ordered was because they deliver until 4. One night, they left my food in the middle of the street and charged my card. It was the same time the bars were closing and all of the drunk people were walking home past the friend's house I was at so obviously wings and a large pizza were quickly picked up by someone walking past. When I walked all the way to the store, a 25 minute walk, because nobody would answer the phone, to try to get a refund, after I had bought something else to eat on the way, the woman managing was rude, made false accusations, and refused to return my money until I offered the alternative: calling Wells Fargo to report the fraud, call the Secretary of State, Better Business Bureau, and Department of Consumer Affairs. I was glad when they told me I could no longer order. I won't have the nasty ingredients prepared by drug addict cooks and terrible service I had to suffer before. Tonight, my brother who has a similar phone number to mine as we are on the same plan (only two digits differ) tried to order food, I guess he was desperate because it is Christmas night. He was informed that he was not allowed to order and had to endure, from what he told me, the same awful, rude, unprofessional manager I did who accused him of being me and said he was not allowed to order. I'm glad he didn't have to eat the repellent food and that I had some food for him to eat and he lives only a 15 minute drive from me. Buyer beware. DHEC needs to pay a visit to this restaurant and see how disgusting it is. I had never actually been on the premises...
