Ouch, what a rude welcome from the owner of this place! Lady at the back work hard to get your crepes ready, food is good but ruined by the behavior of the owner, not friendly not even polite. Tradition in Brittany is to eat your crepes with cider (not proposed here). I would have expected eventually for the inside’s atmosphere music from Britanny or at least famous French songs, but instead this is a French radio station spewing old international music standards. Worst is if I tell you that I am French and was understanding all comments made by the owner towards us and other customers while eating our crepes. I prefer to not report here. Let us try crepes tomorrow at Café Framboise, 7 min walk.
Read moremy crepe was good( savour de monde in my pleasant is much better), although I didn't appreciate the service at all. They wouldn't accommodate any request, such as swapping one sauce out for another... Seems simple enough or even when I offered to pay more to add avocado, a common restaurant practice, they refused. Very bizarre! In addition, although I tipped more than I should have ahead of time at the register we were never checked on, our Waters were never refilled we were never asked if we liked the food...in short no service was provided. the other two crepes ordered didn't look good at all... Perhaps they just picked the wrong things on the menu but their scrambled eggs looked like basic cafeteria style, nothing I would order and my husband's crepes with cinnamon apples was dry with no sauce and extremely simplistic he did not enjoy it. Another crepe was served in a cup with fruit, also seems like nothing special... Especially since the fruit appeared to not be fresh, even the bananas...
Read moreIt’s a cute little space. I expected the crepes to be normal folded over crepes, and I think most people do too. These crepes were open faced, and I think that that could be advertised better. It felt more like an abstract salad than what I am used to a crepe being, but I supposed this is a particular style from a particular part of France.
The owners were speaking French, and they were playing French radio too! It was nice to have that exposure to a different language. They were also teaching some of the younger workers there a little French too, and I thought that was nice of them. It refreshed me on some stuff I learned in high school.
Overall, the place had a good vibe, but the food wasn’t my favorite. I wish they had more vegetarian options, though I appreciated that they had the two they did. My final note is that my dish included included beets, but that was not mentioned in the...
