If I could give this place more than a five I would. I have been wanting to try The Pass for months ever since that unfortunate night in February 2024 when a car landed in their restaurant and they had to close down and rebuild. It was obvious at that time that this was a special restaurant. Today, after church, we decided to stop on our way home. I was so excited. The owner and his staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and helped us decide what to order since it was our first time. We ordered The Italian Boy and The Focaccia del Capo. We also got a side of the spicy stuffed cherry peppers. Our meal came and we dug right in. Both sandwiches were fresh and absolutely scrumptious. They were a little pricey but the quality and size made it all worth it. The owner came to check on us just to be sure we were totally satisfied. Here is where it got good. As we sat there an older gentleman (94 he later told us) with a Vietnam Vet hat and cane walked in. He ordered and came to sit next to us as he waited for his breakfast sandwich. He whispered to us that he was disappointed they didnât have hot coffee. He asked me what Kombucha was thinking he had to make a beverage choice given no coffee. When his sandwich was ready the owner delivered it along with a hot cup of black coffee he ran out to get at a different establishment. What!!! My husband and I both welled up with tears. We are locked in faithful customers now. Well...
Read moreAs former New Yorkers, my wife and I initially had trouble finding a good artisan deli once we moved to Charleston. Charleston obviously has great sandwich shops, but none of them have the authentic and Italian-inspired flavors that you would find in NYC. Thankfully, Anthony opened up The Pass and it has been our favorite spot ever since.
Every Sunday, my wife and I order the Cacio e Pepe (add prosciutto!) and the Such a Nice Italian Boy and love every single bite. Anthony has an eye for detail and makes sure every single sandwich is made perfectly. Each sandwich comes with a unique variety of flavors and is consistently delicious every time you order. Also, did I mention that The Pass has a wide selection of wines? Some of our favorite organic wines are sold here and we love pairing it with our sandwiches.
All in all, we are so grateful that Anthony started The Pass and that we are still able to enjoy the artisan deli experience that we initially...
Read moreIf youâre passing along the streets of Charleston there is absolutely no other place to stop into than The Pass (no pun intended đ) Anthony and Laura have created a cute, intimate, and more than anything delicious environment for anyone to come in for a bite or grab and go as well. Iâve been to Charleston for several bachelorette parties the last few months and have hit them up each time. Their sandwiches are 10/10, spreads and breads 10/10, and whatâs spreads and breads without their meats and cheeses. They have helped curate handpicked charcuterie boards for my friends and I and they have yet to fail with giving us something we didnât like. I canât reccomend them and The Pass enough. Make it a go-to stop on your next vacation in Charleston; and if you live in that amazing city: consider yourself lucky to be that close to this gem of a place. Thanks for...
