Our experience at Bistronomy by Nico, under the culinary guidance of Head Chef Jim O'Connor, was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite the bustling New Year's Eve atmosphere, the flavors served were out of this world, each dish perfect in both taste and presentation. What set this evening apart was the personal touch; even on such a busy night, Chef Jim took a moment to step out, greet us, and ensure our culinary experience was exceptional.

At the bar, Kristen exuded energy and friendliness. Her vibrant presence added to the overall warmth of the atmosphere. Nick's extensive knowledge of wines was not only impressive but paired seamlessly with his ability to make us feel like the sole focus of his attention in a crowded room.

It's not just about the incredible food; it's about the people who make the experience memorable. Bistronomy boasts a team that goes beyond providing amazing flavors; they genuinely care about creating a remarkable dining experience. Our New Year's Eve celebration was elevated by not only the delicious dishes but also the hospitality and warmth of the staff. It was an unforgettable evening that reflects the passion and dedication of Bistronomy's team. We'll be back soon!

A year later, and after coming back multiple times, I can confidently say they’re still one of the best restaurants in Charleston.

They just get it—flavor profiles, service that’s dialed in without being over the top, and a wine list that actually makes sense with the food. It’s hard to find a restaurant that checks all those boxes consistently, but they do.

Favorites continue to be the mussels and fries, the tuna crudo—bright and refreshing, the perfect balance to the richer dishes—and the scallops, which are next level. I could eat the ravioli and duck every day and never get tired of them. Every dish feels intentional, layered, and balanced in a way that makes you wonder why more places can’t get it right.

Their GM, Brendan, keeps everything running effortlessly, and Jim in the kitchen is Michelin-level, no question. You can tell the entire team is valued—down to the maintenance staff getting a shoutout on their website. That kind of care shows up in the details, in the energy of the place, and most importantly,...

Wowza!!!!! Bistronomy is unassumingly amazing. The fact that I was able to get a table at 8:30pm on a packed Sunday night in Charleston concerned me. All of the better known popular restaurants were fully committed. We are foodies and basically base our vacation days on a nice balance of fun activities and the best restaurants. So not having reservations was not typical but our whole trip was sort of last minute. I finally decided we were going to try it as we had only a few choices anyway. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when we walked into this place. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and quaint but lively. The decor is beautiful and bright, the staff is friendly, kind, knowledgeable and experienced. We ordered wine, my favorite cab was on the menu! The food was AMAZING!! We eat a lot 😬 Had the crab soup, fried mozzarella caprese, fish of the day (striped base), bouillabaisse, cheese burger and filet with Brussels and mushrooms. Wow!! I am a petite filet type person and the filet at Bistronomy was the BEST filet I’ve ever had, hands down!! Thankfully I had filled up on soup and apps because my kids wanted my steak so I had to share it! It’s so tender it melts in your mouth and the flavor is superb. We will definitely return to Bistronomy next time we are in town. Also I’d like to note that the surrounding neighborhood is vibrant and exciting with lots of dessert options to head to...

We had a fantastic experience at Bistronomy for an early dinner on Sunday! We made reservations online and were promptly seated. We chose to sit on the covered outdoor patio which was very comfortable & cozy. Our server (I cannot recall her name) was wonderful! She was friendly, helpful in making selections, knowledgeable on all menu items and had perfect timing with replenishing drinks and checking in with us. My husband and I shared the tuna krudo and goat cheese spring rolls. Both were delicious but I was not prepared for how outrageously delicious the spring rolls were!! For our mains, I had the short rib which was so tender and fell apart perfectly. The ratatouille served with it was mouthwatering as well. My husband got the seafood dish (I cannot recall the French term for it) but it included mussels, shrimp etc in a cream sauce that he actually sipped out of the bowl afterwards because it was so good! For dessert we shared a warm blueberry cobbler with French vanilla gelato - delicious!! All of our beverages were made to perfection as well. He had the "Tequila Salad" which was one of the best cocktails he's ever had. I had a very dirty martini which was perfectly made. We also shared a dessert drink, the banana bread cocktail which was sooo good! We have added Bistronomy to our (small because I'm picky) roster of amazing restaurants to plan date nights at!...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bistronomy by Nico in Charleston, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a delightful evening. The baguette served at the beginning of my meal was nothing short of spectacular
might be the best bread ever offered at a restaurant. It was perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, making it the ideal start to the culinary experience. For the main course, I opted for the duck with gnocchi and peas. The duck was seared/cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, while the gnocchi added a delightful texture to the dish. The peas provided a fresh and vibrant contrast, making each bite a harmonious blend of flavors. The glass of Pinot Noir brought everything together. A special shoutout to Colby, the bartender, who provided exceptional service throughout the evening. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor truly enhanced the dining experience, making an out of towner feel like a regular and well taken care of. Overall, Bistronomy by Nico is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy exquisite French cuisine with top-notch service. Definitely returning in the future!

‘Bistronomy by Nico’ serves French/Asian cuisine which was our big draw. This restaurant is my “go to” when in Charleston. We were greeted by a charming gentleman host and our female server was Cassidy who is lovely and made excellent recommendations! Our upfront cocktails were a KĂr Royale and a house specialty, old fashion with brown sugar. We ordered several small plates and shared all of them. To start was escargot dumplings with shrimp, goat cheese spring rolls with a honey sauce on top (my favorite), curry shrimp soup with ginger so it had a slight kick to it, and a luscious tomato burrata salad- (water with lemon with dinner.) The four plates were plenty for two people. The two desserts we chose were; a chocolate mousse topped with a dark chocolate ganache and amaretto soaked cherries served with waffle-cone cookies and a vanilla bean crĂȘmĂ© brĂ»lĂ©e that was caramelized ‘table side’ with coconut cookies. The desserts were delicious with plenty large portions! After dinner drinks were another house specialty coffee with Bailey’s and l absolutely had to have another KĂr Royale. There’s no doubt the chefs were classically trained in French cuisine. It was the best dinner ever!
