I am a faithful customer that comes to Cracklin Crawfish at least once a week and just recently received the WORST customer service ever!! I always place my order to go, therefore I called at 8:30pm to see what time they were going to stop taking to go orders and was told 9:30pm. I called in my to go order at 9:10pm as I am on my way there and was told that they were not taking any more to go orders. I informed the cashier that I was the same lady that she had talked to 30 minutes earlier and she informed me that I couldn’t place my order over the phone. I told her no problem because I was less than 5 minutes away. When I pulled up at 9:25pm my daughter went in to order my food and was told that they were not taking any more orders. At this time I am furious that they would treat a loyal customer this way being that they close at 10:00pm. I left and decided to call back to speak with the manager to inform him of my customer service experience and was told that he was very busy and couldn’t come to the phone right away. I then explained to the same cashier that I could hold for him. After 10 minutes of being on hold the call was unmuted and I was hung up on. I called back once again and the same cashier answered the phone and I was again placed on hold. After 5 minutes the same exact thing happened. I have been a loyal customer since they first opened their doors years ago and I will NEVER support them again since my loyalty meant absolutely...
Read moreJust went here today for the second and last time. The first time was when they first opened, and it wasn't good, but I figured I'd give them some time to work it out. This time it was just as bad.
My son ordered oysters on the half shell, and was told they don't have them anymore (but it was still on the menu). I ordered the 1/2 lb shrimp + 1/2 lb snow crab legs dinner, bayou style (garlic butter). The shrimp was just ok, but the crab legs were terrible--very small (I doubt it was 1/2 lb but I didn't have a scale on me), and there was very little meat inside. It was all flaky and stuck to the shell.
When I think crab legs. I think big solid chunks of meat that easily pull out of a shell. Not in this case. I would estimate there was maybe 2 oz of crab meat in the whole thing--way more trouble than it was worth to crack them. I don't know if it had been frozen too long, overcooked, or just poor quality, but it was not good.
The sauce was gross--it wasn't butter, but some type of margarine, and the shellfish was absolutely floating in it. There must have been a half cup or more of garlic in there. I love garlic, but this was ridiculous.
The sides (2 chunks of potato, one small 1/3 ear of corn, about half a sausage cut in 2 pieces) were ok, and even though I ate them all, I'm hungry again now just a couple hours later. That shouldn't happen for $23. Very...
Read moreThis is the first time back here since the opening in their new location upstairs. I’ve been multiple times prior to this but the experience today was even better. It seems that they’re still stocking up their bar so the picture may not show their full bar. The move allowed them to serve a wider range of alcoholic beverages now including liquor. This place gives you the experience of cracking into crabs from snow crabs to king crabs. It definitely gets messy. We customized a combo with 2 pounds of shrimp and a pound of snow crabs (4 clusters!). We also got a pound of king crab which was 3 claws. Their combos come with corn, potatoes, sausages, and boiled eggs. However, we usually substitute the boiled eggs. Their sauces can be spicy but if you can’t handle too spicy I would recommend any of the mild ones. The sauces from least spicy to spiciest is as follows: house special, lemon pepper, bayou, and crackin’. The price of each seafood item varies depending on the market price. This place definitely is one of the more pricy places compared to other seafood boil restaurants in the area. However, right now, they are giving free T-shirt’s when you spend $100. If you where these T-shirt’s your next visits, you receiving 10% off. The pictures below of Rihanna, Beyoncé, Prince, Winnie Harlow, and Marilyn Monroe are on the stalls of the...
