Pho Real — Restaurant in Charlotte

I come here to get the vegetable pho, no tofu with beef broth. There’s been times I have eaten here two-three times a week just because I love it that much! Today I was given my pho without all of the items that come with the pho. When I told staff the item was missing, they causally stated “oh we ran out” I said okay, no one told me that & then I stated is there a discount that can be applied for the missing item and the staff stated “no”. I was highly disappointed in this as I frequent here, I wasn’t told about the missing item and they could care less about that being apart of the meal. Before we have our own restaurant, Pho Real has always been one of our favs..and even now we have pho at our restaurant, I still swing by for a dose of Pho Real whenever I’m in the area…it was my happy food growing up and it’s still my happy food after all these years! The best way to support a restaurant is to

1. order directly from them instead of thru doordash, Grubhub and stuff …those vendors charge them 30% of our cut! That’s a lot…that’s a lot of bowls of pho to just break even!

2. come and dine-in whenever possible

3. write them positive reviews with really good ratings….bc often people only want to write when they’re upset about something (sometimes it’s not even directly at the food …heheh, the innocent bystander). And it takes so many positive reviews to offset 1 bad one…kinda like when you were in school, it takes 5 A’s to offset 1 C or something. You get the idea! So yah, choose to write positive reviews when you have a good experience bc that’s the most practical and free way to help your local restaurant 🥰

And no, I’m not related to them and I’m not a BoT;) My fav thing at Pho Real is Bún thit nuong, Banh Xèo, pho, and my all time favs…Hu Tieu dac biet, with glass noodles ;) Oooh I also love their nem nuong and my kids love the quails, and my hubby fav cơm đặc biệt .🥰🥰

I’m sorry for my Photograhpy skills…lol…the food is way yummier than it looks...

We used to eat here all the time, even brought family and friends here over the years. But after the past couple bad experiences here, we will not be returning ever. The last time resulting in asking for the manager, something we rarely ever do, only for him to be condescending with no apology at all. The ban xeo was burnt to the point where you could taste nothing but the burnt crust and the veggies and meat inside were old and tasteless. The pho is a hit or miss, lately miss more than a hit. The quality of the food has really gone down the drain as well as the service. When asked for more lettuce, the waiter rudely answered, "that was the last of it" AS he was walking away... could not even stop to tell us that. You wouldn't treat people you know that way, why would you treat people who are paying for your services? Mind you, we waited 25 minutes to even get drinks and over 45 minutes to get food. We've given this place many opportunities to redeem itself... since we have been loyal customers for the past 4 years as well as the fact that it's 10 minutes away... but now, we drive to central (pho hoa) if we want good pho. If the service is bad... at least let the food be good. If you are thinking about going here, don't waste your time...
