My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience here! We visited for breakfast last weekend from out of town. We were staying at a hotel nearby, and decided to get breakfast before heading home. We were immediately impressed with the decor and interior design. There are many different types of seating to suit any customer. You have the option to experience the authenticity of a more middle eastern seating arrangement or a more westernized one. I enjoyed both the table and chairs that sit in an Americanized way as well as the ones seated lower to the ground. They served us at our table we chose with ease. The display of baked goods was immaculate and enticing. It was difficult to choose what we wanted, as everything looked amazing. They have a video display viewable on at least two screens where you can watch some of their dishes on the menu being made. For breakfast my boyfriend ordered an egg and cheese biscuit which came with pickles and kettle chips. We believe the pickles were likely made in house or they are a specific brand, as they tasted of a unique seasoning blend. To drink, he ordered a shaken espresso. We both tasted it, and were very impressed with the flavor. I ordered mini pancakes without banana. They were the perfect consistency, and had a sauce that seemed to be similar to Nutella on top, what I believe were cashews, and strawberries. For my drink, I ordered a matcha Frappuccino. It was possibly the best I’ve had in my life. We had gotten both drinks and my boyfriend’s meal, but were waiting on mine. One of the servers noticed, and went to check on it. She was very apologetic about my waiting, but I was enjoying the ambiance and overall experience. She returned, again very apologetic, stating that my ticket had been misplaced and they would have it out to me very soon. It had gotten very busy immediately after we placed our order, and I was more than willing to forgive waiting a bit longer. The staff was very patient, kind, apologetic, and did their best to provide the best service they could. When the server returned with my meal, she brought us two small desserts for our wait. I feel they more than made up for the minor mistake. Everything we had was incredibly delectable. It was such a wonderful experience overall that I quite literally shed tears. I’ve never had such an enjoyable experience. We decided to order once more before leaving. We placed a to-go order for a mixed berry tart, baklava cheesecake, and two refreshers. I had the dragonfruit lychee refresher, and my boyfriend ordered the watermelon kiwi. Both were incredible. We intend to visit any and every time we are in Charlotte going forward. If they ever decide to expand toward the Asheville/Weaverville area we would be inclined to...

The paninis are another standout—crispy on the outside, warm and flavorful on the inside. The bread is grilled to perfection, and the fillings are thoughtfully chosen to complement each other. They’re hearty, fresh, and ideal for either a light lunch or a mid-day snack.
Perhaps the most memorable item, however, is their signature Kunafa. This Middle Eastern dessert is executed with finesse—gooey cheese, finely shredded pastry, and a subtle sweetness that’s elevated by the fragrant pistachio topping. It’s indulgent but not overwhelming, and a perfect treat to end your visit on a high note.
Where many cafés falter in trying to marry comfort with style, Vavela Café strikes an ideal balance. The décor is upscale without feeling pretentious—soft music plays in the background, there’s ample natural light during the day, and the seating layout offers privacy for those wanting a quiet moment, as well as open tables for friendly gatherings.

Read moreThis is hard to write but maybe I can get a reply from management. I LOVE this place. The vibes are immaculate every time no matter who is here or if it is near empty…my issue is the inconsistency with the food, drinks and cleanliness. I ordered the Dubai waffle and it was so drenched with the toppings that you could not see or enjoy the waffle…it just became soggy bread…the first time I had it it was made perfectly…then after it was in between but not as bad as this last time….it costs almost $20…wasted….I took the L on that and just decided not to get again or perhaps request balance but Lord today when you ask the wrong person at the wrong time…for them for specific prep they look at you like you are speaking a language unknown and as though the request is unrealistic…the turkey avocado melt has been pretty consistent…so I will stick with that and pray it does not change but the pistachio latte was my favorite but every time it is so different from the last here recently…there shouldn’t be a better time to go to get good food or good service…any time should be a good time …wasted almost $10 on the latter yesterday…the espresso was bitter and I have never had that many grind pieces in my cup…it was as if the espresso was burned hence the bitterness…just my conjecture, not sure but off putting to say the least…people don’t always have time to come back up there to have something fixed or refunded or whatever options are available to customers who are displeased…many businesses do not respect customers’ time which is more valuable than their money as it cannot be replaced. I will be back again and again because again the vibes are my kind but I am now leery regarding the latte and sadly the waffle may be a no unless I am received well in an attempt to convey I want the waffle but not drenched. Again, I love it here but I have spent too much money to have to contend with the inconsistencies. It is usually clean but one morning about just 30 minutes after opening, I placed an order to go and proceeded to sit at a table and it seemed to have debris from the night before…i say that because they usually come around right after customers leave and wipe down but there shouldn’t be dirty tables at 730 am and 2 customers in the entire store nowhere near the dirty table I might add. That was just one day but as far as the other aforementioned…One day is one thing but there have been quite a few…I...
