Undercooked food, wrong orders, and now liars all within 2 visits? Can’t be...
Yes it can. IHOP off of WT Harris was able to accomplish that:
My friend and I went into IHOP one day after working out and ordered the egg white omelet with shelled eggs and add steak. First order they did not use shelled eggs and the steak was undercooked. 2nd order, I’m thinking maybe they got this one right; wrong! They used shelled eggs but forgot to add steak. (How did you forget the steak?) Then our fruit was spoiled. I spoke with the manager, they finally got the orders right. At this point, my lady friend was so exasperated that she did not want the food. They didn’t charge us for her food of course due to her barely touching it. The manager was very nice and I’m more of an easy going person I’d like to think, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. He told me hey, I’m sorry that you had such a bad experience. I told him how great the service was (New girl who hasn’t been acclimated to the typical soulless dry service that we’ve experienced but hey it’s not like we’re at Ruth Cris so I get it, although I have been to some exceptionally well customer service oriented IHOPS) In the attempt to gain in the middle of a negative situation, the manager said hey, I’ll give you $5 off your next meal if you take the survey. Just tell them our agreement. I said okay, left the waitress a tip which consists of her normal %20 and added the additional $10 for my lady friends meal that she did not eat. It wasn’t her fault the kitchen guys couldn’t get it right. So today I go back to IHOP and order to go. I explain to the lady what happened and the managers promise and this manager would not honor it at all. I said ma’am how would I have known about your survey if you all didn’t direct me to take it in exchange for a $5 credit. I said ma’am it’s $5. I wouldn’t have cared if I hadn’t already held up my part of the bargain. She repeated with persistence I’m sorry over and over again as if she didn’t hear one concern that departed my lips. It was the principal of having a bad experience only to be lied to, after giving them a good review based on a deceitful promise. I now question the integrity of this...
Read morePotentially the best IHOP in Charlotte food wise with disappointing service.
This IHOP location is located in a busy shopping plaza. There are other competitors nearby, so parking can be a challenge during peak hours. There is rooftop parking if all parking spaces are taken.
This IHOP looks like most standard locations. It looks like it was either opened or remodeled not too long ago since there is minimal damage to the restaurant. The tables are clean & the staff does a good job preventing sticky tables.
This IHOP is consistently servicing solid brunch. It doesn't matter if it's on a busy Sunday or middle of the day on Wednesday, the food is consistently solid.
My recommendations would be the cinn-a-stack pancakes, stuffed French toast, & their combo meals. The eggs are cooked perfectly each time. It's impressive.
This IHOP's downfall lies with the service. I'm not stating that all service is awful. However, more times than not, we experience poor service as a whole. This includes not bringing drinks until after our meals arrive, not having silverware, not refilling drinks, & long delays between service. This can be frustrating for some customers. However, our orders usually come out accurate.
If you're looking to cure that IHOP crave or somewhere to grab brunch, I can recommend this location if you can understand some of the challenges you may face.
If it wasn't for the food being spot on each time, I probably...
Read moreFirst, my PANCAKES WERE TOUGH. Really tough, like they were overcooked or maybe they had been sitting on a warmer too long. You shouldn't have to saw through pancakes at a restaurant that literally has "pancakes" in its name. It they're gonna get one thing right it should definitely be the pancakes. Also, the pancakes were served on a tiny little plate. Do the math -- you can't pour syrup on pancakes when the plate is the same size as the pancakes. My "spicy" poblano omelette was good but not really spicy. It was basically just an omelette with a pepper on the side. My nephew's chicken sandwich was almost completely wrong. He would have sent it back, but he feared he would have to wait another 20 minutes to get another. Despite sitting at the back of the restaurant right beside the wait staff station we couldn't seem to get our coffee refilled. We requested a coffee carafe, but it never came. Our waiter said he was new, but he took our order, brought the food, and that was pretty much it. It doesn't take a seasoned professional to know that when you're serving coffee in tiny little cups there will be a frequent need for refills. He was usually within 10 feet of us, but he asked us only about once if we needed anything. I was trying to get his attention, but he seemed to be intentionally ignoring me. I overtipped, which was probably a mistake. It's like they just didn't care. We...
