Chef Andre is serving up authentic, flavorful, Jamaican classics at Jerk and Juice Jamaican Restaurant. This was my first visit to Jerk and Juice Jamaican Restaurant. As soon as I opened the door, the reggae music pulled me in! I felt right at home. I ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and fried plantains. There are other side dish items such as macaroni and cheese, steamed cabbage, candied yams, collard greens and more. I also ordered a Spicy Jamaican Beef Patty. Wouldn't be right if I didn't get a beef patty. As a bonus, I ordered one of Chef Andre's up and coming specials.... the Jamaican Sugar Dumplin with a sweet, glazed reduction of orange juice and fresh ginger. Everything was so very delicious! Now about the Jamaican Sugar Dumpling. You MUST request it! I have never tasted anything like it before. I'm hooked. Delicious! As a fellow Jamaican, I am always eager to find authentic Jamaican Restaurants which serve up classics without skipping a season, flavor and overall vibe. Big Respects to Chef Andre for taking Jamaican cuisine to a higher level. On my next visit (soon) I am looking forward to trying the many natural juices you make...
Read moreI went here out of the blue because the food photos on Google looked good. I ordered a jerk chicken plate that was $15 and a brown stew Roti $14… First the Roti, roti bread was gooey and good, brown stew chicken was savory and sweet, however more bones than meat! The jerk chicken plate, my plantain was not added, the chicken 4 small drumsticks cut in half absolutely no flavor. The plate was pretty much just dry rice and peas. The cabbage was ok again not much flavor. What you get for the price was very disproportionate! The cashier was a nice woman no complaints there at all. It’s just I paid a lot for my food and expected better… I wanted oxtails but for $20 I don’t know about that considering the lack luster proportion size… That roti though, I think I’ll give that another try with some goat… That will be my final attempt at redemption...
Read moreIt pains me to say I’m really disappointed. I ordered my favorite dish Oxtail and there was NO FLAVOR at all, nothing distinctive about the taste of the meat. My sides were white rice and Mac and cheese 🤦🏽♀️ The first thought I had upon opening the plate was “what’s that smell 🤔”, then once I tasted the first bite, there it was. The Mac and cheese literally smelled & tasted like peanut butter was used as an ingredient to cook it. It was quite overwhelming and I actually could not enjoy my food. I did however enjoy a few pieces of plantains. Maybe today was an off day or maybe oxtail & Mac and cheese is not a strong suit here. Ordering Oxtail out anywhere cost upwards of $20 or more at any given time so for them not to be enjoyable or full edible is a huge disappointment. Good luck to this establishment and your...
