Unfortunately, this jersey mikes can use some training… or have a warning label about how they cheat customers out of their money. Came in and ordered a giant 43, provolone instead of American, DOUBLE CHEESE. I got 6 slices of provolone. And this is where the problem is. There 0 consistency with this place. I’ve gone and got giant subs with 6 slices automatically on there without asking for anything extra. I’ve gone and received 4 slices and haven’t asked for any extra/double cheese. So what is the standard here? I’m paying extra for being cheated out of my money? The food is still good, but goodness can some please train the staff to know how to make the subs properly and the portions? If 6 slices is DOUBLE. So 3 is what comes on a Giant? Really? I even confirmed with the person twice, “can I double” “yes I already did it”, “that’s double on a giant” “yes it is.” Which is hilarious, because I see you slice the cheese and count. I don’t know if working the machine is too much work for the staff and they get lazy/tired half way and decide to call it, or if it’s something else, such as failure to train, but definitely not ordering anything extra here because you get cheated out of your money. I would love to know how many slices go on a giant sub… or is the number “whatever the staff feels like it being?” Hard to be a sub above when you cheat your customers, have incompetent staff, and/or fail to train your staff properly.
10.18.24 update.
Went in again. Got a steak sub. Everyone is friendly. But I’m probably getting food poisoning. It’s unfortunate once again. Training is still a joke here. When you touch RAW MEAT (even frozen) you then touch: peppers, onions, cheese, spatula or sandwich you are increasing chances of food poisoning and food contamination. You should wash your hands. But at minimum change your gloves. Neither happened. And boy oh boy I think I caught at least 6 sandwiches+ be touched with dirty gloves. Congrats… I’m never coming here again. CUSTOMER BEWARE… this jersey mikes enjoys trying to give their customers food poisoning. Sandwich...
Read moreBeen to this location twice, both experiences weren’t good. The first time I figured it was just because it was newly opened and they still needed to work out the kinks but “NO”, it still was not on track when I returned about a week later. The first time I was offended by the vulgar language used by two young black male staffers. The taller light skinned one very carelessly wrapped my sandwiches. It appeared that all of the adults working were in the back laughing and chatting leaving one lady with braids working with the kids slicing meat. The manager, I believe Deidra was her name, was called to the front twice to handle a problem at the register she didn’t correct. When I got home with my steak sandwiches I was very disappointed because they fell apart and were overcooked drowning in peppers and onions. This past Friday, took another chance, ordered a turkey and a ham sub that I had my husband pick up. Well again they were poorly prepared. Very messy, the oil and vinegar was delicious though. I believe training is very important, especially for young first time employees which they have a lot of. Until they get better management in place at this location I will be returning to the Mint...
Read moreCame in 3/25 at 7:30pm, there was a line out the door. I figured it was because they just opened and it is in a busy location. BOY WAS I WRONG. As we're waiting in line, you could see and hear several concerning things. The lady on register, while super helpful, also had a horrible attitude. The kid wrapping our sandwiches had to be reminded for every single sandwich to cut in half, was rude to another customer who came to pick up their order, and extremely slow/lazy. The kid actually sprinkling our sandwiches was definitely new, he didn't know what was on Mike's Way and was extremely unfocused; he definitely should've been moved to a different position.
Now for the only good part. The gentleman who sliced our order, I didn't catch his name unfortunately, was absolutely pushing it. This man, who was probably the manager, kept his calm in a stressful situation. He definitely needs to be coached on how to effectively use his team, but he has so much potential. After a very long wait, we took our food home and enjoyed it.
I hope I can update this review to a significantly better score after a few weeks...
