Sabor Latin Street Grill — Restaurant in Charlotte

This Sabor is a great casual Latin spot! My friends and I needed a place for Taco Tuesday night. While we were less satisfied with Sabor in Noda, we heard promising word of this location and decided to give it a chance. We were not disappointed by our experience.

TLDR: If you ever feel the craving for a burrito or a taco on TT, I would definitely recommend this Sabor location. They have excellent customer service and appealing (albeit standard) fast food.

The atmosphere was on-par with most fast Tex-Mex-esque places, minus the music. The seating was quite clean for such a bustling day, and the seating was well-spaced. After we made our way through the line, the cashier was very pleasant and accommodating.

We ordered the Sabor Especial burrito and some $1 tacos. We also shared some chips with queso dip. The food tasted delicious, and none of the food lacked in freshness. However, don't expect any out-of-this-world flavor in the food we ordered, with one exception: the chips. They sprinkle some amazing seasoning on that tortilla!

I was overall satisfied with the food proportions as well. Although I was a food glutton who ate everything, you could easily turn half the burrito and chips into a second meal. The burrito was close to bursting, and the chips were enough to share. Unfortunately, the queso was in a tiny 2oz portion cup, which seemed very limiting and...

Went in taking a chance the food might be good. Paid $2.75 each for 2 street tacos, per the menu, plus a dollar more per taco for my "choice of protein"....sit down to eat and get one good taco and one that is mostly fat that l spit out. No big deal, but as l'm eating l notice the "specials board" with tacos for only a dollar m-f after 3:00 pm. I go to the cashier to get a refund as l had paid $8.00 for two tacos that should've only cost $4.00. The cashier apologizes for his mistake (didn't remember the specials) and the manager comes over to give me a....dollar refund!?!? I point out the error, he insists there is no error and points to the Tuesday special - except its MONDAY today! l could care less about the money, but l do care that they charge me correctly. After being told repeatedly by the manager "that's not how it works" (read the writing on your own "specials" board man!) he is salty and puts another dolllar on the counter. First time visit is also my last visit, mediocre food and a horrible manager = see...

I love the Sabor in NoDa and off Hawthorne. This is by far the worst Sabor out there. And I would know because I’ve now been to 4 different locations.

While this has the look and feel of NoDa’s restaurant, the way they run it is terrible. First off, they don’t set out cups for salsa. Without a sign, you have no idea what to do. Luckily, I asked the lady next to me and she told me I had to ask the kitchen for some. Ugh! We both agreed that was dumb.

After placing our order, we waited at least 20 minutes for our food. This is supposed to be counter service.

The food was phenomenal, but not as good as NoDa’s. Plus, parking is insane. It’s in the smallest shopping center ever. You’re battling with other cars to even find a place to park.

We won’t be back to this one, but we’ll definitely hit up Hawthorne or NoDa again soon.

Really wish they’d put one in Cornelius or Davidson. It would be a total hit in those areas with Lowe’s, Ingersoll Rand, MSC and...
