I was told about Copain just yesterday in person from a friend. They explained how they have found the best croissants ever in Charlotte. To my surprise they are in the area I live of Southpark. So I came the next day, Saturday morning and was pleasantly surprised with the glass ceiling seating area outside the bakery store front. The inside of the bakery is beautifully laid out to see all the amazing offerings from quicheâs, eclairs, salads, and the infamous croissants. I chose the Speck and Gruyère croissant (ham and cheese). They warmed it perfectly and I accompanied it with a Cappuccino. Both were absolutely amazing. The croissant seriously is the perfect crisp outer shell and soft and full of flavor on the inside. I was very happy with the cappuccino as well.
I am not one that normally writes a review but I learned of this from word of mouth and was curious and went to google reviews while sitting here and the first review I saw was someone that said they were not impressed. As I read the review basically everything was perfect but his one drink. Instead of kindly just explaining to the establishment he was not satisfied and giving them a chance to make it right because he doesnât like confrontation instead he got behind his keyboard to say negative things.
I am not saying this to be rude to his opinion but I donât respect his conclusion and how he handled it. I saw where Copain responded and they of course would have gladly remade the drink because if anything this could have been a teaching moment for one of the baristas that may have made it wrong. In conclusion donât be afraid to kindly ask if you are dissatisfied with a drink in a restaurant, bakery, or bar. It is the service and hospitality industry and they opened the establishment with one goal in mind, to please you. But remember please do it tastefully.
THIS IS A MUST DESTINATION FOR ANYONE THAT IS LOOKING FOR A TRUE TREAT OF AMAZING...

I am a coffee drinker, who usually finds it rather noneventful. I have my daily cup at home, or a cup or two on the weekend with my wife. It has always been a social thing for me. I drink about 1/3 of the cup, and leave the rest.
But not at Copain Boulangerie, oh no, I sit back and relax, sip on a drip, americano, or perhaps a smooth cappuccino, mindfully enjoying my surroundings.
I have worked in Southpark for 11 years, and just recently discovered Copain. They are less than five minutes away, and I never knew they were there.
This quaint little French bakery and coffee shop, is warm and inviting, and if only for the moment, takes me away from the outside world.
My first experience was with Emily. She poured me a warm cup of the most flavorful drip coffee that I had ever tasted!
I finished my large cup of delicious brew, and as I left with my second cup to go, I turned to Emily, and asked her if she put sugar in my coffee. She told me, matter-of-factly, that she had not.
I thanked her, told her that I would be back soon, and that I never want sugar in my coffee at Copain.
And donât get me started on their baked goods. The coconut tart was heavenly, and the ham and egg scone was delicious.
Alison, another worker, introduced me to the world of croissants. I have had croissants before, but have never really cared for them. I enjoyed this one!
Amy, the Manager at Copain, told me about how Copain began, what they are about, their offerings, and their plans to be open on Sundays, starting the last week in July.
Sunday is the only day of the week, that I get to spend the whole day with my wife, so I am so very excited about being able to share this...
Read moreYou may want to get here early if you would like the best chance at getting a table. I visited mid-morning on a weekday and was surprised it was so busy. Although itâs a nice place to meet for groups (classes, games, needlepoint), those guests take away the space from patrons with smaller parties who would flip tables more quicklyâŚespecially when the majority of seating is reserved for Roosters. Both the vegetarian croissant breakfast sandwich and ham and egg croissant were delicious, and the Boston Crème pastry was to die for. I wish the customer service and attitude of the cashiers matched the level of superiority of their dishes. It was rather overwhelming to walk in as a first timer, not know the menu, and not have an employee offer to assist in any way or answer questions (in fact, they seemed annoyed that I didnât order quickly enough, which made me feel even more pressured to finish the ordeal). The line to order is confusing and I donât believe I was the only one who thought so given the number of times I was asked if I was in line by other customers. This is partially due to onlookers and shoppers browsing the many gift items on display. If I go back, I will take things to go instead of the hassle of crowded tables, overwhelm, and attitude. My party and I did purchase a half loaf of bread to go which was fresh and lovely. Overall, an outstanding product, but their interactions leave much to be desired. If youâd like to feel like youâre in France and donât mind being treated as less than equal, this is a great...
