Lone Light Coffee — Restaurant in Charlottesville

This is hands down one if the best coffee shops in Charlottesville. While their menu is a bit limited (several drinks are only available in the smallest size), their coffee is brewed with the utmost care and thought. The store has an interesting atmosphere, mostly because of the plethora of pie related decor, but it looks quite appealing overall. Another advantage of Lone Light is their locality. While many people that work on the nearby downtown mall get their coffee at Lone Light, the quaint nature of this establishment means that most non-locals wouldn't think to stop there. Best Latte spot in town. When paying a premium price for a premium caffeine beverage, you want high quality, consistently. There is a lot of competition in town, but Lone Light takes the prize of 'best of' for us because of their consistency and excellence. Lone Light totally understands that 'part-time' or 'new employees' should not have their training subsidized by the patrons - and I respect that.

Plus the atmosphere is just too cool. When you get in, take a moment to ground yourself, and soak in the vibes. This place is adorable and has a very welcoming atmosphere. I had to kill some time on the Mall (waiting for a friend), and Lone Light Coffee was a great place to grab a coffee and work. The service was friendly and quick. I only got an iced coffee, but it was perfect for what I wanted. The espresso drinks look divine as well. The only downside (but honestly a plus for me) is it's a bit small. Only four tables inside and two outside. I prefer the cozy vibe the size creates, but just something to be aware of if you're visiting with a larger party! Would highly recommend and hope to return next time...
