The staff were very friendly, but the service wasn't great. They have very limited seating (understandable), but there doesn't appear to be a designated host/hostess. There was some confusion over our table being mixed up with another patron's. We were seated inside after agreeing to give up the outdoor table. Our server took our orders about 5 minutes after we sat down, and then totally forgot about our appetizers. We got our main meals about 20 minutes after being seated, and when I asked about our soup our server apologized profusely. I said no problem and said yes we would take the soup now despite our entrees being up already.

She brought out my lobster bisque and my boyfriend's clam chowder. The bisque had almost no flavor, was very runny and needed salt. The chowder was terribly thick, but the flavor was ok - average at best.

I ordered the swordfish sandwich, and my boyfriend ordered a burger. Both sandwiches were very dry, lacked flavor and they're essentially alone on the plate. The menu tells you that each sandwich is served with cape cod chips. What they don't tell you is that you get the .50oz bag of cape cod chips, so you basically get 5 chips with your meal. Very odd.

Unfortunately, we will likely not return. I hope they turn things around, because it's a great location and it has such potential. The execution overall...

We were exploring Chatham and decided to grab some lunch here at about 3:00pm. We didn't know they were about to close! But that explained a bit of confusion with who was actually taking care of us. Once we solved the server mystery everything was great!

We chose to sit out on the patio. We recommend the fried shrimp plate, the crab cake plate, and the crab cake sandwich. My nephew is allergic to shellfish so he got a burger and said it was perfectly cooked. I also thoroughly enjoyed a Hog Island IPA. A nice amber color, a little hoppy, but very easy to drink and went well with my sandwich.

My wife and her friend each got cups of soup - baked clam and a very creamy lobster bisque. Both are excellent!

All in all, great food with decent portion sizes. The sandwich was just enough for me to feel full but not uncomfortable. Quite enjoyable....

In the beautiful town of Chatham there are many places to choose to eat. However, in my opinion and many people I know their is only 1 choice Captains Table. As a local I know. Coronovirus has made eating out challenging . Captains Table makes you feel from the moment you walk in the door. That alone would make them stand out. However, the real star of this little gem is the staff and the perfectly prepared fresh food. Diane the owner is both knowledgeable on how to be both personable and professional. Keeping everyone safe and happy. She cares about her restaurant her staff and her community. I will miss you this winter when you close. I will eagerly be waiting for opening day 2021. Thank you for all you do and how much you care. Have a wonderful winter. In the meantime I will see you soon and often as I can. A very very very satisfied and...

We were visiting friends and decided to check out Chatham. We drove to the lighthouse, then worked out way back to Main St. My wife's great at finding interesting places with good food. This didn't disappoint. We shared the fried belly clams and a lobster roll. A quick decision captured an open patio table. Service was friendly and quick. The clams were the better of the two. The lobster roll was tasty, but I'm partial to fried clams. Special shout out for the house ketchup. I'm finicky, but liked it. Same with the tartar sauce. Well done! A very nice mid-afternoon lunch and a great stroll too.

The place feels cozy & comfortably crowded like a favorite small town diner that accommodates everyone. The crowd included a lot of older men, so possibly it's where locals hang out as well as tourists. I tried my first warm buttery lobster roll. It was made well, tasted super fresh. Chips & dill pickle included. The chef chatted a bit, really nice guy. I tried the clam chowder which was good. Wait staff were really good. It's not a cheap place to eat but it's vacation & lobster rolls were needed. Also that flight of fruity mimosas went nicely with the more heavy warm food.
