Are you familiar with botflies? What if you woke up one day and you looked down at your hip to see a small white hair sticking through your flesh. The hair is very thick. You try to tug on it but it seems like your very flesh reacts violently to the irritation. You ignore the discovery for the day and go about your daily task, trying to pretend that the pain you're feeling as your pants press against your waist isn't as bad as it truly is. The next morning you find that the hair has grown even longer and thicker. The flesh now has a large round mount that hurts to the touch and feels warm - like an infection. You put a 4x4" gauze pad over the sore to keep it from being painful and you choose a pair of pants with an elastic waistline for today. The pain grows worse as you work. You take ibuprofen for the inflammation, it doesn't help. You try tylenol to reduce the feverish burning. It doesn't help. You struggle to sleep at night. When you wake, you find the sore is significantly worse. The spot has raised to look like an orange or a grapefruit is under your flesh. You tell yourself that today you're going to the doctor, that this is some sort of cyst or an infected hair follicle, and try to keep your mind from wandering down the path of panic-worrying that this might be a tumor. You head to the bathroom to inspect the painful lump in the light. For some reason you feel compelled to squeeze the skin around the painful lump, hoping that it might burst and relief will rush into the flesh and pus rushes out. Your fantasy is interrupted when you feel the lump move. Subtle, but you felt it. There's no denying it. This mass under your meat moved. Your heart races. Sweat is now trickling down into your brows, threatening to join the tears welling in your eyes. You decide to attempt popping this nightmare again. The lump reacts violently. There's no denying it, something is in your flesh. You look up into the mirror to see something you've never hoped to view - raw fear on your own face. Your eyes are wide enough to see the whites around your dilated pupils. Your breath is a rapid pant. You don't even notice the pain in your jaw from clenching your teeth in pain and in fear. You look away, you look back down, and you stare at the wound that seems to have turned into a small pucker around the protruding hair. Rapid and sudden pain grips your body, your hip feels like it is being ripped apart, your bones feel like they're giving birth to yet more bone. Blood runs down your thigh and drips from your kneecap as the wound opens wider. White hair tinged with adipose tissue and blood emerges through the wound, only a few at first, followed by more. Small white hairs and longer thicker hairs. It looks like fur and whiskers. Then you see black lips framing teeth, young sharp teeth. As the puckered flesh peels back, the lips peel back as well to reveal gums lined with needle-like teeth that separate with panted breath. A pink nose emerges. Violently and with an alarming alacrity your flesh is ripped further by an emerging claw, a paw lined with tiny daggers that dig into your flesh. A face presses through, a small furry face with green slitted eyes and a tiny yelp of a meow. You reach down and pull the thing from your body. A small kitten, barely large enough to fit into your palm, covered in blood and plasma and grease from the fatty tissues of your skin, slips from your fingers and lands on the floor with a wet "thwap". It gets up, dazed, and scurries to the corner of your bathroom and hisses in fear. Blood pools around your feet and you feel light headed. You sit on the edge of your bathtub and unspool a wad of toilet paper from the roll and pack your wound before twisting the towel into a makeshift bandage around your leg. You look at the frightened creature. It looks at you - a much larger frightened creature. You're both confused, and you don't know it yet, but you've just met your newest best friend and companion for the years to come. Parasitikitties are rare but your bond will be unbreakable. The wings are great!

Bonjour, Foodie Friends! Drew here, reporting from a recent sojourn to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I had the pleasure of experiencing the down-home flavors of Puckett's Restaurant. Now, you know I'm always eager to delve into a good, honest meal, and Puckett's certainly offered a taste of Southern hospitality. My initial mission, naturellement, was to investigate their much-talked-about mac and cheese, that quintessential American comfort dish elevated with the allure of smoky meats. And oh là là, the aroma alone was enough to make my heart flutter! A creamy cascade of macaroni and cheese, nestled beneath a generous blanket of both brisket and pulled pork. A veritable feast for the senses! The mac and cheese itself? Magnifique! Rich, velvety, with that delightful sharpness of good cheddar. It embraced the macaroni like old friends reunited. Now, the meats! The brisket, ah, the brisket! Clearly slow-cooked with patience and love, it was tender, smoky, and imbued with that deep, satisfying beefy flavor that brings a contented sigh to the lips. Truly a star of the show! The pulled pork, while possessing that lovely, shredded texture that speaks of hours over low heat, did present a slight… shall we say… enthusiasm for salt. It wasn't enough to cause alarm, but it did slightly overshadow the pork's natural sweetness. A gentle reminder to the chef: a whisper of salt can be more effective than a shout. And to accompany this hearty fare, a simple pleasure: a Diet Coke with lime. Crisp, refreshing, and precisely what was needed to cut through the richness. Parfait! But the culinary exploration didn't end there, non, non! Dessert beckoned in the form of their bread pudding. A Southern classic, bread pudding can be a truly comforting experience. Puckett's rendition was indeed good, a warm and moist embrace of cinnamon rolls with a pleasant sweetness. However, a rather unexpected guest arrived on the scene: a homemade cream cheese icing. It was, shall we say, a surprise. On some bites, the tangy counterpoint to the sweet pudding offered an intriguing little zing. But on others, it felt a tad… insistent, almost vying for attention rather than harmonizing with the comforting flavors of the pudding. A bold choice, to be sure, and one that might just divide the aficionados. While appreciating the adventurous spirit, might have preferred a more classic vanilla or bourbon sauce to allow the bread pudding's inherent charm to shine through unadulterated. So, my dear Foodie Friends, Puckett's Restaurant in Chattanooga offers a generally delightful and hearty experience. That brisket is a triumph! The mac and cheese a comforting classic. The pulled pork could benefit from a touch less salt, and the bread pudding with its cream cheese icing? Well, that's a culinary curveball that you'll have to experience for yourselves. Bon appétit!

Ok so overall it was great but there were some disappointments. The app we had was the fried green beans, it was pricey considering what it was but we really enjoyed and the portion size was great,3 of us and we didn’t finish it because there was plenty. My wife got the BBQ platter and it was on point, very good. The portion was great and it was good BBQ, the vinegar in the coleslaw was a little strong but not if you ate it with everything else. Let me say I know Mac and cheese, I eat every where. There Mac and cheese is perfect!!! I paid $30 for Mac and cheese in DC last week and the Mac cheese here was way better and it cost me $4 as a side. I got the steak and that was the disappointment, it was $32 and completely bland, it just lacked basic seasoning, I used some sauce on it which helped a little but it’s frustrating to pay so much for something that is fairly easy to do and yet it falls short. Golden Corral steak I had last week was better. Like I sad it was sad, but honestly everything else we ate was perfect so I’d still eat here I’d just not get the steak. My daughter had a kids meal and really liked it. The peach cobbler desert thing was killer. Great beer. The bama mosa beer was delicious. The live musician did well. All that being said the highlight of the night was Trinity our server. She was freaking awesome, she made great suggestions and was very friendly and went above and beyond to make us happy. It was expensive but I would gladly go back just for the fact that our server made the night, give that girl a raise or hell her own franchise. 😁

There is the Chattanooga Choo Choo and Lookout Mountain, and then there's Pucketts. It is an amazing place with down-home southern fare and atmosphere and service to match. We did dinner and had three dishes, which each were done to perfection and tasted amazing. The smoked meatloaf was a great find with the most amazing flavor and consistency. The meatloaf was made from meat that is smoked and seasoned on site with a crazy good .it of spices and smoked to perfection. We also had a Nashville cheese steak, which had smoked brisket and lightly dressed with cheese and seasoning. Accompanying the sandwich was a good add to the wholw dish. The combination was, as my daughter put it, a mighty fine taste! We also had a uniquely seasoned salmon dish that was a crazy mix of glaze and sauce that went very well together. The salmon has mashed sweet potatoes as a side that balanced it very nicely. For the table, we had skillet Mac and Cheese with biscuit crumbs accenting it to a nice flavoring, but the Mac and Cheese was one of the best we had ever had anywhere. Bravo for that one! But the Coup de Gras was the Cinnamon Roll Bread pudding. I have included a picture of an empty bowl with the post as a testament to how good it was. We were impressed with the main course, but we all said we would come for just that desert! It was head and shoulders above any other cinnamon based desserts we had ever had with the texture, flavor, and accompanying real whip cream! Most excellent end to a most excellent meal! You can not miss with a meal at Pucketts!

We are from out of town we've been traveling for about a week now haven't had much luck with any good food at all this was our last night in town and we chose to eat here at Pucketts. Our service name was Ellie She asked where we were traveling from and I had told her Florida she came from the same place we did so what a small world she was amazing from her personality to how she took care of us was 5 stars all the way definitely definitely ask for her. My husband got the Piggy Mac and cheese it was one of their specialty dishes it came with a little small pancake on it he said it was very good and he is a picky one. I got fried chicken sandwich that had some of the best pickles I've ever had on them as well as it was the 1st time I tried sweet potato fries and they were delicious also i had They Apple cobbler It was so good it came with whipped cream and ice cream. So-and-so if you're new in town definitely go there 1st as there's not very many good places for sure in Chattanooga which was quite disappointing quite disappointing from the South in Georgia but I live in Florida and I love good Southern cooking I didn't find any of that on this trip the closest I found was Paula Dean's kitchen. So next time you go ask for ally and I'm sure you will enjoy and not be disappointed. Thank you Ellie for making our last evening here a good one maybe we'll run into you back in the Hometown 1 day.

Online order submitted around 7:30, est pickup time 8:10pm. Arrive 7:50pm, seemed surprised they had a online order, looks at receipt dispenser, finds ticket, “it’ll be 15-20” not a problem at all since that would just about hit the targeted time the meals were to be ready. Seems logical, perhaps machine distributes the ticket on in a way to ensure freshness. 40 minutes later food comes out, during that 40 min we purchase Pucketts Swag (we eat in Nashville and Franklin Locations frequently), also during that time we’re asked by hostess and appeared to be leadership position if we had been helped. 4 times. The same folks who set the expectation food would be out shortly. So I follow up to see if perhaps we may have been a lost ticket. Leadership says it’ll be out when it’s ready so when you see her bring it out it’s here, again not horrible experience but not great or typical. Food comes out hot, we’re happy. Walk 2 min to hotel. Ribs hit the trifecta of awfulness. Tough, fatty, and could not break or tear apart. Just awful, ate 1/16 of ribs we’ll hit up puckett’s again but not likely Chattanooga. On a positive note all Perosnal smiled 99.99% and atmosphere was great while we waited. Just an atypical experience. In fairness I haven’t followed up with location. But it’s only been 3 hours.
