*QUICK UPDATE - After reading the response from The Comedy Catch, I have a few points to make: From where we were sitting, we never saw anyone approach the guy. Believe me, we were closer than we wanted to be. We did not see or hear anyone ask him to quite down and/or stop heckling. As a matter of fact, he was still being loud and obnoxious 5 minutes AFTER the show had already let out. Also, we see comedy acts very often, and are more than aware that Etta May banters with her audience. This was not typical of any show of hers that we have seen. Regardless, we hope you take this info as constructive and not critical. Thank you.
We visit The Comedy Catch quite often, and have never been disappointed, whatsoever!! But, last night we were very disappointed and saddened. First of all, we LOVE Etta May. We have seen her here and also in several other cities and states. She is a great comedian and this review DOES NOT reflect upon her. She's the only reason that I'm giving this review 3 stars. At the beginning of each and every show, it is stated and announced that no "hecklers" are allowed. It is also stated that you will be asked only once to quieten down and if you continue, you will be asked to leave. Last night, this rule was NOT enforced. My husband and I were very uncomfortable by this "heckler's" behavior and rudeness. It was beyond apparent that this person was very intoxicated. At one point, the comedian asked him to knock it off. While he continued to be disruptive and belligerent, you could see that the comedian was getting frustrated, as well as most of the people in the crowd. At this point, I question management/owners. Why are YOUR set rules not being enforced? Do loyal patrons or even first-time quests need to just, "suck it up"? Most of us work extremely hard for our money and getting a night out is a treat. To have our show getting basically ruined by one person, is just sad. At one point, we felt like we needed to leave because we were so uncomfortable. Once again, we LOVE Etta May and your other comedians. I'm sure that not only your comedians, but your loyal audience members, would appreciate management applying their own set rules to each and every show. We are disappointed and now, very cautious about even coming back to The...
Read moreI was also with Tiffany Coy tonight. The food we ordered was terrible. Nacho Supremes with about 10 chips, a pile of lettuce, raw jalapenos, no meat, and very little cheese. After waiting 25 to 30 mins and no waitress to be found. I took the 2 orders down stairs to the kitchen where I waited for another 5+ minutes as waitresses walked passed me holding the plates. One finally spoke to me, I explained the issues, and she went to get the manager. I was still standing there holding the plates. She finally came and took the plates from me and I returned to my seat. Our waitress returned with 1 plate and informed us that this was all the manager would do to make things right. We were very respectful with her and I told her I would follow her down to speak with him. He approached me with an attitude. And I told him the issue, he told me half was eaten from one and I explained no that's what was brought to us. I also explained I would not pay for the other nacho. Tiffany explained the issue after the show and we were accused of using profanity with the waitress which was an out and out lie. She made the comment we would not be back after 20 years of coming several times a year. She was informed by the manager that he didn't care. Real professional attitude there. So here's my review, beware of management and don't expect any type of professional courtesy. I'm a retired army veteran and police officer, this was a horrible experience. Now comes the excuses and reteric from the unprofessional manager owner. I hope you have better luck...
Read moreHonestly. I’m so disappointed. I’ve been coming to the comedy catch for YEARS. Ever since I came of age, and I’ve always used cashapp. Idk how long they have used toast, but I brought my fiancé and some of my friends tonight so we can experience open mic night for the first time. The comedians were.. eh. Some of them better than others. Whatever. Not comedy catch’s fault. Drinks and food were great. Pricing was decent. Until it came time to pay. Sometime throughout my time there their system, toast, pre authorized my card for $40.82, okay, whatever, thought it would come outta my total. NOPE. Then it went to charge me for the entirety of the bill. Which was $77.47, on the card I used I only had $54 and change remaining. So they took the $54 I had in addition to the $40.82 that was already taken. Therefore they took 94.82 FOR A $77.47 BILL. I attempt to inform the manager there, name unknown, he said he was the AGM. I explain to him I was already charged for the entirety of the bill, and I have nothing else to give him. He CONTINUES to insist I pay the remaining $23 and change that I do not have when I had ALREADY paid more than my bill even was. He was rude as crap. And at one point said “SO WHAT IM HEARING IS YOURE NOT GONNA PAY.” YOU DAGUM RIGHT.
Eventually he called his general manager and she explained to him to let me go, it’s toast fault, not mine. And it’ll clear up. Long story short. Either pay with cash or as you go or you could...
