I had no idea that this place even existed! Im glad I can share it it’s others now! So beautiful inside! The old cars, vans , buses , bike…. Coke machines, and so much more I took just our son with me on a mother son day and was the best surprise I could have given him! His jaw literally dropped when he seen what was inside. The background that goes with everything is so cool to read about. How Honest Charles got his name is my favorite story that I had read. And nope… I can’t tell you… You will have to go in and read and check it out to find out! He really was a Honest Guy! One of the best from what I could see, so have a blast and go check out his collection and see ! The wood shop is so cool too… as well as the paint booth! Their is a gift shop as well inside when you first come in… we had spent about and hour and a half to go through it all!
When we first got there we had drove around two or three times to figure out where to park. That was the tricky part of the trip. You park in the “Coker’s Tires” parking lot then walk down . It’s not labeled great we only found out that for sure was where to park , by parking and walking down and asking them inside. As well I believe it says on the door when you walk in. Hope you all have a blast...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our trip to this museum! We heard about it from a passerby who noticed that my husband and 3 year old sat watching a road get paved for about 20 minutes. Recognizing a fellow little vehicle lover, they recommended we take him to The Coker Museum (as well as the Towing Museum, but we never made it there). I'm so glad we ended our trip by visiting this gem. It was free for my toddler and affordable for two adults. We were greeted by very friendly staff, and the facilities were pleasant and organized. The bathrooms were sparkling clean, too (this is a small detail, but when you go to as many museums as we do, you tend to notice which ones take special care to make the entire experience comfortable). We went on a Saturday, so there weren't any projects being worked on, but we were able to see into the workshop areas, and of course the vehicles on display were beautiful and interesting. The placards and the videos accompanying select exhibits were really informative as well. My toddler especially loved seeing the Yellowstone poster with one of the buses from...
Read moreWe came for a day trip to Chattanooga, advert, attractions museum, interesting, and really affordable. The staff was super welcoming and unlike other vehicle museums that are more spacious and aesthetically impressive, Coker is warm and has soul and personality. Seeing rare and historic vehicles in the setting of a speed shop is so much better than a big sterile museum. This place has a personality. What I strongly suggest is the use of QR codes which visitors could scan with their phones and be able to read details of each vehicle posted on a website. Especially with the motorcycle collection, which is really impressive, but the bikes are displayed on 4 levels of scaffolding against the walls which makes it more than difficult to read much of the information. Since the museum has Wi-Fi, the use of QR codes would require nothing more the QR code displayed near each bike and visitors like us could enjoy seeing the vehicle As well as getting some solid information. We totally recommend this to friends visiting Chattanooga, who have...
