For those who don't know, this long-time downtown fixture is not only a restaurant it's also a full bar, and it has a package liquor side too. For this review, I will be discussing my time eating at the restaurant side of it. My recent visit here was the first time I've eaten at this restaurant in approximately 20 years. It felt meaningful being here because of the history of this restaurant with how long it has been open. Well, getting to my dining experience. All the staff I talked to were really friendly. My waitress was awesome and kept making sure my party and I were ok. The food took a bit longer to come out, but my thing is, I don't mind if it takes a little longer for the food as long as it's fresh. Well, the food was indeed very fresh. The burger I got was pretty decently sized, and it tasted very good. I was very pleased with how the food turned out. It just was an overall good visit. I think it's worth mentioning that this restaurant is in a great location with it being in the heart of downtown Cheyenne. It's right next to the depot and in walking distance to other attractions, shops, bars, and other businesses...
Read moreI love the Albany and used to work there, I've never had a bad meal from there until tonight. The food is normally amazing when it makes it to your table before it has a chance to get cold. My server was Alex and to say she was terrible is a compliment. As I said I used to work there so I know that I was her only table it was the end of the dinner rush and things were winding down. She was absent for most of the meal and kept forgetting condiments that I waited for so I could eat my steak. I understand waiting for drinks because the bartender is usually busy with their own guests while filling other tables orders, but it took forever to get my drinks and my condiments I left without finishing my dinner which she was ready to retrieve when I requested them. I understand being the opener you want to leave as soon as possible but just because you are cut from the floor doesn't mean you don't still have guests to attend to. I will continue to frequent the Albany but will only eat on the bar side now as the last few times in the restaurant the servers have been young and unattentive and all together...
Read moreIt is a pretty good diner. More on the expensive side of you're looking for Chicken fried steak or steak I didn't purchase but some menu items are around $28. I got fish and chips that came with coleslaw. The menu stated the coleslaw was not exchangeable so I didn't try. The meal came with 1 very large battered and fried filet and some basic French fries. The coleslaw was OK, but I'm not a coleslaw fan. The meal was just OK. Mostly flavorless. I got cottage cheese for my baby and that was good. Not Low fat. I also tried a soup of the day. The menu states they make the soup fresh every day. It was a sausage, potato, and Verde soup. It was a little spicy, good flavor. I also ordered a creme brulee that was awesome 👌 👏. My friend ordered a steak sandwich. The steak was perfectly cooked, but so tough she couldn't chew it and ended up leaving it on the plate. She also bought cherry cobbler, it had good flavor, but was mostly cake. Another friend ordered 3 appetizers, all breaded, nothing looked exciting enough for me to want to try. You can get a bottle of wine for $16 or a glass for $6, so we...
