I will open and say that this pizza is good, but does not remind me of New York pizza. We ordered another pizza from Hambones to just have a fun comparison project for a date night. Prior to picking up, they called me to let me know they were out of cream cheese, in which I was already in line at the store and let them proceed despite the missing topping. I appreciated them trying to reach out first before baking it and then my girl and I went to Hambones to fill the time. Came back and got the pizza. We opened it up and saw they did manage to get cream cheese on it, but it looked a little strange, like it was an afterthought and dolloped ontop of the pizza after it was baked and not while, there was not char on the cream cheese and looked fresh topped after it was baked. It also didnt really taste like it was salted, it was milky and lacked flavor. The crust was light and airy, but didnt have that toothsome mouth feel like a New York Pizza should, it felt a little undercooked and under salted. The sauce was also much too light and made for a dryer pizza. All in all, this doesn't remind me of a New York Style pizza like Scarr's in New York. The toppings though were good, like really good! Overall, the Hambones pizza won in all regards when it came to bread, crust, toppings, sauce, salt level, and texture. While Hambones doesn't specialize in new york style pizza, they seem to naturally do it all...

This is the Best Pizza joint in Cheyenne by a long shot. Honest to God New York Pizza, I mean the real deal. The Steak Sandwiches are to die for. They are a properly made Philadelphia cheese steak sandwich. Get the Joe's Special steak, with capicola Jalapeno chilies with American cheese melted in, one bite and you are hooked. The salads are excellent and include a very good Italian bread roll with real butter. Both the pizza , and bread dough is made from scratch right on the premisses. The other items on the menus I have tried have been without fail excellent. You can buy pizza by the slice. Be sure to try the Sicilian pizza properly made on a thick pizza bread base the Family size will feed a family it is enormous. I particularly like the fact this is a local business, not a franchise. I always like to patronize local businesses when ever I can when the food is this fantastic it is real easy. I was clued into the Down Town Pizzeria by the manager of a local franchise pizza place he told me Modello was the best pizza in town. When I heard that I had to make the pilgrimage. That franchise pizza place has lost a customer...sorry but the taste buds rule. Did I mention they have...
Read moreDecided to take a shot since there are so many good reviews, yet I have found myself wanting. Let's start with the Philly Sandwich. Tasteless and bland, you would think a sandwich with 4 different components would have the flavor of at least salt and pepper, very disappointed. Now for what they should be good at, the pizza. We ordered the Margarita pizza and once again for it being only a few components you would think it would be easier to perfect. The mozzarella was barely melted and there was some kind of liquid that looked like either water or liquid from frozen mozzarella being thawed out. Either way we didn't make it past the first piece. I really am sorry that i have to give this place a bad review considering this locations history, but I need to be honest here. There is alot of room for improvement and with how many good pizza places there are in town you need to step up your game if you want to compete. At the moment I would not recommend nor would I visit again. Update: Fiance and I woke up this morning and became friendly with the bathroom, still not currently feeling too hot. If I needed anymore reason to come back here its definitely gone. Health inspector needs to take...
