Heard of CAVA via social media of course, and was excited to check it out once I found out it was opening in Streeterville. However, that excitement quickly turned into disappointment. I understand that this is a new location and customer service, especially food service, can be rough but I don't believe it excuses how disorganized and poorly run this location is so far. I ordered online, as I work in a hospital and only have a small allotted time for my break, and my food was not even ready for pickup. I tried to discuss this issue with a team member but was met with what I felt was indifference. My order eventually was made but they missed two items in my bowl, which I tried to notify them about but was subsequently ignored. As for the food, it left much to be desired. My bowl was sparse for the amount of money I paid for it. It left me wishing I got double chicken at Chipotle across the street. I'm not sure if that's how all Cava bowls are served but paying $15 - $22 for 3 bites of food is ridiculous no matter how brand famous your company is. I did relay my complaints to corporate and received an $8 credit but I'm unsure if I'll ever be coming back to use it. Do yourself a favor and let someone else gift you a food item from CAVA. You'll be pissed if you spent your own money...
Read moreI was genuinely excited to try CAVA for the first time, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing due to poor customer service. I understand it was extremely busy, and I waited patiently in line. When I finally reached the front, I politely told the staff member I wanted rice. Since it was my first visit, I wasn’t familiar with all the names, so I pointed to the one I wanted.
Instead of helping me, the woman behind the counter responded sharply, saying, “Don’t put your finger over the glass,” in a rude and condescending tone. I’m a grown adult not a child and I don’t appreciate being spoken to that way. Her attitude remained dismissive as I continued selecting my toppings.
I spoke to a manager in a black shirt right away. While he did apologize, there was no effort made to make the situation right or offer any sort of resolution, which left me feeling even more disappointed.
As a person of color, the experience made me feel not only disrespected but uncomfortable. I will not be returning to this location, and I hope CAVA takes this kind of feedback seriously to ensure all guests are treated with basic respect and...
Read moreThe food is excellent — I love Cava. This was my first time at this location, as it’s a newer location. And the staff was sweet and clearly working hard, you could tell that they were worn out and trying to be efficient. But I waited about 35 minutes just to place my order because they were very busy. By the time I got to the end of the line, they were out of several dressings. Not ideal, but also not a big deal. What really bothered me, though, was that during my commute home on the bus, I noticed the lid wasn’t properly secured, and my bowl had begun leaking out. After waiting in line for nearly 45 minutes, the least I expected was for the bowl to be properly closed. The portion sizes are generous and the food is still great, but the experience definitely left me a little disappointed. I understand they’re busy, but every customer is a paying customer who deserves their food handled with care — especially after a 45-minute wait. Take an extra minute to close the lid all the...
