I had an utterly absurd and strange twilight zone experience here today at this particular Dollop location.
First of all I walked in with my friend earlier today between 1pm and 1:30 just to clarify the timing of this incident. The male barrista was clearly not wearing a mask at all not even draped under his neck but the female barrista was definitely wearing her mask.
This guy was in charge of preparing my friend's coffee and my hot chocolate so I didn't complain and then dropped my mask below my nose since he wasn't wearing a mask at all. I figured if he's not required to wear one I could lower my mask for fresh air.
My friend and I both were fully vaxed and I mentioned I might not get a booster 🙃 so the female barrista gave me a demeaning look and ordered me to cover my nose completely again with my mask. I did just as she suggested but when I asked her politely why her colleague wasn't forced to wear one at all she completely evaded my simple question and persisted in making my biscuit without acknowledging me.
I do understand that not all of us should need to wear 😷 masks if we have written consent from a physician and maybe her male colleague preparing our drinks MASKLESS received a Dr's notice but she refused to answer my innocent question. I have breathing problems too! I was born with a deviated septum and I'm not fond of these mandates; but why are there employees here prepping drinks maskless breathing over our food and drinks and the customers are being admonished to cover up our faces when they aren't abiding by the same rules?
Besides all this i must say everything here from the decor to the cleanliness should be commended. It's the double standards for their customers that are sketchy.
My hot buttered biscuit with jam was yummy and so was my hot chocolate. The bad vibes and double standard treatment of customers I could have done without.
Im leaving a generous 3 stars and telling it like it is! My friend by the way kept his mask on fully the whole time by the way! If all the employees aren't required to follow the new mask mandate then how come they are bullying customers to cover our noses here!? This kind of ruined my dining in...
Read moreThe staff here was INCREDIBLY rude. Stood there for a few minutes and no one greeted me. It was to the point where I wasn’t sure if I was even in line. Finally, one of the girls (after turning on the music first), looked at me. I asked for a large iced coffee, which I had thought was 16 oz. She IMMEDIATELY interjected with side comments as I was trying to order. “A large is 20 ounces.” So, I just went along with it. I’m from a smaller town, so I was willing to believe that people from big cities are just stressed out. I then moved onto ordering a latte. I asked for a 20 oz large latte, to which she responded “not 20 ounces, 16 ounces.” I also ordered a pastry. After that, she walked away. She didn’t even gesture to the swipe or tap options so that I knew I could pay. That was literally the entire interaction. I payed (and tipped!) and waited over in the corner. She put my drinks on a tray without saying a word. Keep in mind, it wasn’t busy. There were three people sitting down and eating bagels. I realized she had never given me my donut, so I tried walking back to the register to get her attention. Nothing. I stood over in the corner with my drinks, trying to make eye contact. Read moreWe have been their regular customers and usually buys bagel with coffee. Honestly, coffee was never great but it’s the closest cafe which gives option of bagel and coffee. Bagel was something which I personally always liked. However, it’s been couple of months, they have started adding a lot of salt on top of bagel. I ignored for a while thinking it’s not a big deal and mistake happens from everyone. But the amount of salt has been increasing dramatically. I have to throw upper half always since last few months. You can see in the picture I have uploaded. White granular visible on top of the bagel is all salt. It’s still less than actually we received bcoz I heated it up and removed some salt by hand. Other than salt issue, Bagel is tasty and perfect chewy with the combination of coffee. So, deserves 2 stars at this moment.
Another issue we have experienced is with female staff. I can’t remember her name but she’s mostly rude with me and my husband. And always messes up with order. Nothing major though. However, I felt that she’s rude just with us and polite with others! What message are you trying to give.?
