Avoid. They charge heinously high prices for bottom shelf whiskey. They're upcharging $18/750mL whiskeys to $200/750mL on average in the name of exclusivity, but lack any quality to back it up. Their whiskeys are young, acrid, harsh, and thin-tasting. Their entire stock consists of beginner blenders playing with 3 year barrels from mystery distilleries. Their market segment must be rich non-whiskey drinkers buying gifts for their friends or family. If you'd like to buy a whiskey drinker a nice gift, find a mostly-empty bottle in their cabinet and buy a bottle of that same brand one step more expensive. Look for words like "select" or "reserve." They'll be happy. Please, save yourself the time and money, go to Binny's, and ask for some help picking out a nice bottle. I promise you'll get something far better. On Saturday March 26th, my boyfriend and I entered spirit and spice. During our time there we attempted to purchase a bottle of lemoncello. We thought we would try a few flavors before we purchased, and were made to feel like we didn’t belong. We had to chase the attendant that was giving the samples, and as soon as he handed us one sample he decided he would return to attempting to show face for a mother and her teenage son (which he asked if they drank a lot. It’s a teenager. Who ask that?). Not to forget that the same attendant was being very attentive to everyone else in the story and going beyond for them, such as, offering Bloody Mary mix to go with their sample, offering multiple samples, etc while we stood beside them hoping for the same service. It's just because the option for no star is unavailable. We're on vacation from Canada and decided to go visit this store with intention to buy. Not only were both staff unable to be bothered to do the minimum and say hi and greet us but both continued having a personal discussion between them for the 10 minutes we were there looking. Absolutely disgusting service and shameful. We never got any service or acknowledgment that we existed so we ended up leaving and did not purchase. Worst experience ever. *edit: I wrote to the company via their contact us section on their site and received a call from the general manager who sincerely apologized multiple times for the experience we had and that the situation will be addressed. It's honestly really appreciated and shows they care and I'll change my review to 2 stars...
