Truly poor business ethics. The men working on 9/28/24 ignored potential customers and ripped others off who were trying to sell cards while talking shit and being wildly unprofessional at the cash register.
I had scoped this place out, excited to check out a different Pokémon league space as we're visiting from Columbus, Ohio, and moving here next week. But I quickly realized that this is not a friendly establishment.
I waited in line just now at the counter, my boyfriend stood behind me. A kid was attempting to sell cards, but the cashier was being an absolute prick to this poor kid. As I'm deciding what Pokémon card packs from behind the counter I want to buy, talking about it with my partner, the guy at the register looked right past me and addressed only my partner, asking if he wanted to buy anything. He said no. I'm still standing there, in line, when another person comes up with something to buy. The guy at the register addresses him, helps him make his purchase, and turns back to the kid selling cards and talks to him with such an unprofessional and snooty attitude my jaw dropped! I'm still waiting in line, several minutes later, when more people come up to the register and I'm still ignored.
So I left, and I won't be returning.
Be kind to your customers, and don't ignore them for whatever reason you chose to ignore me and not any other customer who just so happened to all...
Read moreTwice now I've been to this place and they've been alright the first time but the second time was rude. First, I'm asking if they have the latest pokemon set, whoever was on the phone was nice, and even saved me some product. Only thing off putting was the price (almost triple the msrp), but that was on me. The second time I try to see what my cards are worth and this one guy I ask nicely to, checks the cards and it's fine. I don't know how this works since this was my very first time seeing the worth at a shop. But this guy in a condescending tone and "erm ackshully âïžđ€" demeanor just tried to make feel like a dumbass. Quote straight from this big guy, "You trying to sell that at 80? Go sell it yourself, no one is going to buy that." I don't know what kind of training for basic customer service they have there, but it's obvious they don't know how to interact with people. Especially those just starting out, sounds like some kinda superiority complex or something they gotta work out in their life. DO NOT COME HERE. Even if it's the only closest place nearby, the people working here definitely don't have a future so they'll take their regrets onto...
Read moreWhy was it a PHNI OTS Championship, and we got worthless Valiant Smashers for entry with no prizing for top 8? People there told me they wouldnt have came out if they knew. No sealed product to speak of minus 25th MRD and BLCH, which are not main sets.
They offered top 8-4 store credit (which I'm fairly certain is against Konami policy), or whatever packs they had available which again was nothing with there being no point in banking credit.
The playmats got "lost in the mail," so no first place prize, minus a stupid voucher, and no raffle. Would not let us bank our entry for packs later.
You had 40 people show up, you pissed off half of them, and didn't have the stones to cancel when you had nothing to give the players.
No other OTS within 40 miles ever hoed their players like this, it was either PHNI, OTS packs, or vouchers for better packs later when you could get them. Can't blame Konami either, it looked like this store hadn't replen'd yugioh in months.
Awful first time...
