I literally just finished my roll. Like I am still picking lobster meat out from between my teeth.
Ordering was quite simple online. I asked for an 11:45 AM pickup time and hopped in a taxi to get to the shop. There was one customer when I walked in and three young brown gents behind the counter. They all greeted me warmly and I immediately could sense that they all had amazing attitudes and personalities. They were just adding the last item to my bag and confirmed EVERY item that I ordered which was really nice. They asked if I needed anything else, which I did not, and they sent me off with a smile on all their faces and a wave.
I hopped in my Uber and skee-dattled back to my office on the other side of the river. I hurriedly pulled out one lobster roll, one JUMBO lobster roll with truffle butter, one Blue Crab Salad and a clam chowder. All of this including my $3 tip came to around $75.
At my desk, I poured the extra mayo and the truffle butter on my JUMBO roll and tried to figure out how to eat this seemingly small roll. That's when I noticed that the rolls are in paper boats so you don't have to worry about getting truffle butter and mayo all over your fingers. BRILLIANT! I took one bite and OMFG. It was life-changing.
They don't bury the lobster in mayo so if you like a moist salad-y lobster roll, get the extra mayo as I did. I like to have control over that so I made the right choice. These rolls deceivingly seem small but they are not. The bread was lightly cloaked with butter and toasted perfectly. I wanted to slowly chew and savor each bite but I also wanted to inhale it all in that one bite. It was the perfect amount of food, flavor, lobster meat and everything else.
This place is a winner. The service was exceptional and friendly and I think it's a great addition to the dining landscape in the area. I can't walk to the place in my fancy loafers but I will gladly hop into a taxi for a quick lunch run. The quality of the lobster and the care in processing so there are no shells and HUGE chunks of lobster are worth the effort and the cost.
I know a bunch of people complained about the prices but really, though....it's lobster. If you can't afford to eat lobster on a whim at lunch because it's what you have a taste for...you probably shouldn't be here. This is not Burger King, McDonald's or Wendy's. Skip three venti lattes and treat yourself to one of these rolls!
I wish there was a way I could go back and change my tip amount online because those guys working the counter deserve more. But don't worry....I will be back....with a bigger tip for their phenomenal attitudes and huge...
Read more🦞On our first time trying Luke’s Lobster we opted for the trio and tried their shrimp rolls, crab rolls, lobster rolls, crab bisque soup, lobster corn soup. The meals also came with chips and drink, and oyster crackers for your soup. We were surprisingly full afterwards but decided to order a second lobster roll to go and finished it off when we got home. It was perfection. The meats were very flavorful well seasoned (especially on the lobster rolls). My favorite were the lobsters chunks which were sizable enough to bite into. The soups themselves were of good portions too. The cup looks small but it was deep and the soups were flavored well. I could probably go a little lighter on the salt, you could also taste the small bits of seafood pieces. All of the meats and even soup have a slight kick to it which my palate enjoyed.
All of the seafood are sustainably sourced from the shores of Maine. As an added bonus, the service here was great too. While we there, there were lines of people coming in and out for carry-outs even more than eating in. We weren’t in to much of a rush but the worker comped us a drink becausw we had short wait for our to-go order (it’s the small things).
Their dine-in space is smaller so it’s ideal for 1-1s our a small group. I highly recommend checking this place out as a food option before the show at the Cadillac theater next door if you want to still have quality food but save time. Here, you can have your food quickly, not having to swap parking later for the theater (big bonus IMO) or having to wait like in a traditional sit-in and order food situation. This place was like a safe-haven when we were coming in from 20 degrees weather. It was well heated, and after our hot meals, we walked less than a block to the theater and it was so ideal. Overall, I enjoyed the feel of the small shack and its big taste here so I would definitely come back whenever I have a hanker for a Maine lobster roll and a show again 😋...
Read moreLove me some Luke's Lobster!! This place quite definitely hits the spot!
Before visiting the observation deck of the Willis Tower, we decided to pop into Luke's Lobster on a rainy day for some yummy lobster rolls and soothing clam chowder soup.
Everything in here was prepared just right - the lobster roll had buttery, fluffy, soft rolls with delightful chunks of lobster inside. Them rolls were filled and overflowing!! The Lobster Rolls come with chips and a drink - the chips were great for dipping into the Clam Chowder Soup that you can order if you wish to make it a combo.
And the soup itself was sooo soothing and yummy - I loved how creamy and rich it tasted without being too heavy.
Everything is freshly prepared after ordering, but it still wasn't much of a wait at all to have everything come out and service in general was very efficient and friendly.
The space is very intimate, cozy, and warm inside, with some Cape Cod/Lobster themed portraits on the walls and string lights providing a lovely glow.
Luke's Lobster has their thing and they do their thing flawlessly - getting a Lobster Roll with Clam Chowder Soup here is ALWAYS...
