We had a very upsetting and insulting experience with McDonald today! We went to this McDonald located at 2525 S Martin Luther King Dr, Chicago, IL 60616 for lunch on Feb 9, 2014. We ordered 40 pieces chicken McNuggets, 2 Big Mac, 1 medium coffee, 1 large coffee, 1 large soda, and then we asked for a cup of hot water. To our surprise, we were told that they had to charge us for the hot water and it's $0.77 for a small cup, $1.31 for a medium cup and $1.42 for a large cup of hot water!
We ate at McDonald a lot, and it's the first time we were ever told that there was a charge for hot water! The server Janet Acevelo was very rude, when I asked her for her name, she told me her name was Carmen, and when I asked for her last name, any girl who worked there told me her last name was Jones. I was treated like fool there by there McDonald workers. Finally the manager, Michelle Brooks came over and asked me what the problem was, I explained everything to her and asked her why the price of hot water was not listed on their price list there, and she said that they were charging for the cups. The price of the cup alone was same price as the coffee!! And when I asked for her name and the name of the rude employee named Carmen Jones then I realized Carmen Jones was Janet Acevelo instead. So I confronted Janet Acevelo and asked why she gave out a fake name to me, and she said that she did not have to give me her name if she did not want to. Yes, she could have told me that she did not want to release her name, but she should not give me a fake name!
We went to McDonald a lot, and they always give out free hot or cold water with our orders, and this experience was very frustrating and upsetting! And worse of all, they treated me like fool in front of other customers, by giving out fake names, one employee told me the first name and another one told me the last name and both were fake names, and they found it very amusing and were laughing at me! This was extremely insulting to me!!
Customer service is very important nowadays, even though theses employees might think that they did not have to treat us with respect, but they could not make fun of us, especially in front of all other customers! Being an oriental woman myself, I believed these employees were very discriminating and rude!!
I hope they could do something to improve...
Read moreOnly a select few things should make my husband cry. McDonald's should NOT be one of them! We waited in the drive-thru line for about 10 minutes before realizing the line wasn't moving. Since we had a mobile order, we just switched to a curbside pickup thinking it would be faster. Another 10 minutes go by and no one came out with any food, meanwhile the drive-thru line started pushing cars through at record pace. We went inside to inquire about the status of our order. There was no one to be found while cars were passing through the drive thru quickly. After another 10 agonizing minutes they finally acknowledged all of us in the lobby (4 orders including ours) and told us it would be right up. We waited for ANOTHER 10 minutes while they continued fulfilling drive thru orders, and they came back to tell us that they were waiting on fresh fries which would be ready in 1 minute. We thought "finally, some food!" The food came out and they also said they were waiting on the shake machine to "boot up." We waited ANOTHER 5 minutes before inquiring again and they said the machine was "at 53%." I'm not sure what this employee meant and it confused us so we waited some more. 10 minutes later we were told the shake machine was down and we could get a soda instead. Almost an hour to complete our order, and we didn't even get everything we asked for! Not to mention they didn't refund or even compensate us for the missing items, so we paid more to get less. All the while they probably completed over 100 other orders that were entered before and after ours was, without any semblance of a First-in, First-out system. This was Wednesday night after 7pm which is not a peak time for dinner. Also there were no major events nearby which would increase their load. All-in-all, this situation was not handled well at all, and I'm not even sure what it'll be like during rush hour or major events. Very dissatisfied with how the staff managed it, and combine all that together and it's a recipe for disaster. Fair warning: I'd find another fast food place, because this was not fast in any sense of the word. We won't be coming back here again, even though it is so close to...
Read moreI had the most worst day with this 25th street mcdonalds. I had taken my bicycle and stood in one line of the drive thru for 15 mins and no one answered and there was people on the other drive way path going ahead with someone answering and taking the orders. I thought the machine was faulty and went through to another machine and then there also waited for 15 mins and no one answered and I was so frustrated and went ahead to ask at the billing counter and the car behind me came forward and someone took the order for them. I did go through the driveway path just because the front door was closed and was asked to come through drive through. This was the worst service that I received from this center. What if people come through bike dont you guys take order? It really made me cry just because I was waiting in the line no one answered my call though I was asking many times if anyone was available. I everytime take my car but this was the first time I took my bike since the weather was so good. Was it because I came in bike I was not given service? This is really bad, I recommend people to not go there. This is really bad. When I was frustrated and went inside at 8:35 PM so many people are waiting in the line and they tell them to come through drive through. Is this a good way of treating customers. Mcdonalds is always the best place to eat but never had experienced such a worst behavior's. I really want to give zero star but it doesn't let me post the comment...
