In the heart of Chicago, there exists a culinary oasis that goes by the name of Remington's, and it's a shining gem that deserves all the praise it receives. My recent visit left me absolutely awestruck. From the moment I stepped inside Remington's, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. The warm and inviting atmosphere immediately put me at ease, setting the stage for what would turn out to be an unforgettable evening. The ambiance at Remington's is a masterful blend of contemporary sophistication and timeless charm. Whether you're seated in one of their cozy corner booths or perched at the elegant bar, you'll be surrounded by an environment that oozes class and comfort in equal measure. The food it's nothing short of a revelation. The menu is a testament to culinary excellence, showcasing a commitment to fresh, top-tier ingredients that elevate each dish to sheer perfection. My culinary journey began with the Ribeye and the All American Burger they were a delicate masterpiece of flavor and texture. I began my meal with the Ribeye steak, and I must say it was an absolute masterpiece. Cooked to a medium perfection, each bite of this succulent steak was a testament to Remington's commitment to culinary excellence. The exterior sear locked in all the juices, resulting in a tender, mouthwatering experience that left me craving for more. The flavor profile was divine, showcasing the rich, beefy essence that only a perfectly prepared Ribeye can deliver. I also decided to try something a bit different, the All-American Burger. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how this seemingly classic dish was elevated to gourmet status at Remington's. The burger patty was juicy and packed with flavor, and the quality of the ingredients was apparent in every bite. The brioche bun was fresh and perfectly toasted, adding a delightful contrast in texture. Toppings like crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a tangy house-made sauce added a burst of freshness and complexity to each mouthful. It's clear that even in a burger, Remington's dedication to quality shines through. The presentation was impeccable, and it was evident that Remington's takes great pride in every aspect of their cuisine. Remington's, you've truly set the bar high for dining excellence, and I applaud you for it. Thank you for an evening that will stay with me...
Read moreProbably the worst meal I've ever had for a multitude of reasons. Tip: Do not talk to servers about anything personal, they'll shut you up and ignore you. Raw food, high prices, and inaccurate knowledge of rules for staff.
I was ecstatic to try this place out with my Partner; with great reviews and a high price tag what else is their to expect. Only went for happy hour, told by hostesses happy hour is anywhere in the restaurant so we agreed to a booth. Only to be seated for the manager to come over and tell us we can only receive happy hour at the bar. That's fine, we stayed at the booth. Took about 10 minutes for the server Eddie to finally stop by. He was polite at first; asked us why we were in the area. I came for a work event, which I mentioned, and he actually knew the work event I came for. I'll admit, I got excited he knew and began to ask a question (i asked one question) about the BOH since it relates to my industry. Big mistake on my part. Eddie got visibly annoyed that I continued to speak and interrupted, word per word, "Okay, Okay, Okay! Can you stop and just let me do what I need to do?" Shocked, I apologized and laughed it off. Eddie then only took our order, and ignored me mainly and my partner for the rest of the night; and IF he ever did stop by he would only speak to my partner, ask how his food is, only refill his water, and would not speak or look at me. I was very embarrassed after being cut off, shut down, and then ignored when I would be paying for an almost $300 dinner. Eddie made sure to drop off the tab. I decided to tip Eddie fairly based on the bill. My steak was raw, and I didn't even bother to mention this after being ignored the entire time. For the final kicker, his colleague who was working in a similar section actually apologized to us and said "I'm sorry I'll take care if this for ya'll...I promise he's not ignoring you, I'll just help you guys out." Listen I served for over 6+ years...that means "He's ignoring you, you're paying a lot of money, let me save not only his tip but also your experience" Truly awful, wish I never came. Good luck if Eddie is...
Read moreThe food was really good. I got the Spinach Artichoke dip for my appetizer. Pro-Tip: dip your chip in the salsa to lightly coat it, then spoon some of the Artichoke dip onto it. I figured that out when I was 2/3 done and it was so much better I wanted to cry because I couldn't start over. I had The Remington for my main course; I ordered it Medium Rare, and it was definitely Rare with a cool red center. This thing is thick, they had a great outer layer that was seared and then it transitioned right to red, there was no pink. I expected it to be red, so it was fine, very tender, but if that much red concerns you you might want to order it Medium if you're a Medium Rare person. The bone is thin so you don't give up very much weight to what's not edible. For dessert I got the Cookie skillet and the Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp. Each one is a normal serving for one person, two if you're a light eater... I am not a normal person, so don't take it that they are "small". Both were very good. The Strawberry Rhubarb was tangy. They use actual caramel on the ice cream over the cookie, so it hardens and is crunchy, super good but if you have fillings you're worried about have them hold that though. My server was okay, she was much more interested in another table that had more people though. I never hit ice on my drink, but when I asked for butter for my baked potato it took a while for it to come because she was at the other table again and I had finished over half of my steak by the...
