Gee's Caribbean Kitchen — Restaurant in Cincinnati

Before this location was open, I went to the one on Pippin and both times, the man was rude and the food mediocore. The only reason I tried Gee's today in Clifton is bc my fave jamaican restaurant(yummis Express) was closed and I was really craving oxtails. I decided to give the Gee's in Clifton a chance and I am so glad I did. I called it in (the woman who answered was friendly unlike the one on Pippin) and when I arrived my food was already ready. The food was delicious. Almost as good as Yummi's Express. Also, the restaurant was clean and I wouldn't have minded eating it there unlike the other location where it looks cluttered and uninviting. I say all this to say that Gee's (in Clifton) is now one of my top 5 restaurants. I wish I knew the name of the woman who served me bc I would have mentioned her name. Good customer service is hard to find and so when I receive it, I like to acknowledge them bc people are quick to post when something is wrong but not when something is great. 0/5 stars - the restaurant was completely empty, the employees (while nice) did have a noticeable unpleasant smell. The food was clearly not fresh, they pulled the cornbread directly from underneath the cash register. Our order was cold so we asked them to warm it up, they weren't initially sure how to (???) but they eventually figured it out. What we ordered was inedible so we threw it out to save our stomachs. The most stale and flavorless Caribbean food in an odd environment :/

My first experience at this restaurant since island Friday closed . I been looking for that good jerk chicken and all I can say is overpriced and over hyped. I GOT THE MIX AND MATCH OX TAILS ,JERK CHICKEN, MAC N CHEESE, GREEN AND A COOKIE IT WAS 28.99. The meat was cold as if it was pre made it and not kept up with temperature. THE GREENS WAS MF FAMOUS GLORY LIKE I COULD NOT TELL. The mac was average at best when not compared to any other restaurant that dose the same thing. The ox tails were room temp , fatty and big bones. No meat and the worst tasting jerk gravy G.T.F.O.O.H, BUT I MUST SAY THE COOKIES WAS THE BEST THING GETTING A 10 OUT OF 10 BETTER THAN ANY BETTY CROCKER RECIPE.
