Nice Life OTR — Restaurant in Cincinnati

One of the more poor dancing experiences you can have in Cincinnati. Continuously on weekends nights they are overcrowded to the point that I’m sure the fire marshal would shut them down. They don’t have enough staff to keep up with the amount of people inside to try and get drinks or even stock things like water for guests. The dance floor is always disgusting and full of trash. There is trash all over the place truthfully. This place has absolutely unacceptable and abhorrent ventilation with hot thick air that makes you want to pass out. I’ve been begrudgingly going to this place for years and every time I regret visiting. This place needs an overhaul to become a premier establishment. Very poor sound system that’s too loud without quality. They need a much more strict limit of people allowed inside at any given time. This place is mediocre at best and I would not recommend going unless you have no other options. If you do come here, I would not show up past 10 PM on a Friday or Saturday. They simply don’t have the ability to serve their patrons well with a safe healthy environment and good service at capacity. I do hope that somebody buys this spot and refreshes it with a better concept and invests into the staff and building as the location is prime. There wasn't an entrance fee, which I liked. The crowd was reasonable and stayed to themselves. The staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks. Drinks are affordable, sized appropriately and worth it. The place is spacious and clean.

The bathroom was also very clean however, the doors to both the men's and women's restroom are kept open. I was uncomfortable with this and chose to use a restroom that was away from the door. As I was washing my hands I was able to have a clear view of the men's restroom where I could have watched them urinate - if I was that type of person, so it became uncomfortable to wash my hands because privacy became an issue.

Karaoke starts at 10pm sharp. We had a wonderful time singing and dancing. The DJ was friendly and tried to assist with having songs available that were requested. He didn't have 3 songs, back to back that my sister wanted to sing, but he did try to make up for it.

The music was loud and clear. The lyrics shown on the television for karaoke matched the song and synched. The microphones worked really good.

I'd totally return to this...

New name & owners. Spacious dive bar that's great for groups, especially to dance on weekends plus it has good karaoke on Sunday nights.

Most seating is at a very long bar. Drinks are pretty cheap. Service is fast.

There's a nice outdoor area through the door at the end of the bar where you can chill.

It's between the 12th & Main streetcar stop and the 13th g main bus stop. No kitchen, but within a block of a few food places.

Big and roomy with a long bar + tables + dance floor + small back patio. Good for groups. Their staff and regulars are pretty welcoming.
