I wished there was a below zero rating for the experience we had to endure at this restaurant. We were a party of 15, came to this restaurant for a pre Christmas family reunion. Waitress and waiter were awfully rude (older lady and skinny bald guy). We initially reserved a table for 13, but we had two additional people that joined us last minute and the waitress sat them by themselves claiming there was no room to join an additional table to ours (which was fine with us if it wasn’t for her trashy attitude as if we were ruining her night). Then half an hour into this experience, we had ordered bottles of wine and waiting for the rest to join, the waiter came and tells us we have to order because the table was reserved after an hour and that he has to put our order in so we can eat and leave before the next reservation!!!!! Never have I ever been so rushed as if the Pope was coming to have dinner there and they need to evacuate the premises. At that moment most of us were ready to walk out after this poor service. We decided to stay since two of us had already ordered food. We ordered mostly from the pasta menu. The food was HORRIBLE. The lasagne looked like red vomit. The Alfredo fettuccini was disgusting we couldn’t even finish our plate. It was literally the worst Italian restaurant we ever stepped into. Each plate cost more than $25 which I would not even eat it for free. What kind of business with such a history, fails miserably in food and customer service?!! Scotti’s Italian Restaurant should be Schitti...
Read moreScotti’s has been on my to try list for a while, and when I reserved a table for Valentine’s Day my boyfriend and I were very excited. Has a wonderful ambiance with mosaic walls throughout and has a very cozy feeling. The soup was mediocre, nothing special. The bread was fluffy, but generic, and salad was more like a fermented wilted lettuce pot, absolutely drenched in what I assume was a red wine vinaigrette. After this, We were still highly anticipating our meals, hoping the salad was just amiss or old. I ordered green fettuccine aka pasquale with a side of Italian sausage, and my boyfriend had Scotti’s Speciale meat sauce. When they finally came out, I took one bite and gagged a little. I have never felt the need to send a dish back before, but I seriously considered it this time but didn’t want to exhaust them further due to the crowd. It tasted like chef boyardee, and had a cakey goop texture surrounding cut up green fettuccine. It had an off putting texture, flavor and smell. My boyfriend said it tasted like tuna mac and cheese. His “specials sauce” seemed to be diced tomatoes in red wine with unflavored ground beef and a few peas. I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed by this restaurant, I had very high hopes and it was a bummer. I learned my lesson, never betray Biagio. Biagio’s is the Best Italian in Cincinnati, with lower prices and...
Read moreMy fiancé and I had a lovely evening. The Italian music and operas playing in the background were a fantastic backdrop. This isn’t a 5 start restaurant by most standards, but the eclectic art, the interesting salad, (you will understand if you go) and the romantic candle light really made the experience 5 Star. I made a ridiculous error in judgement and didn’t ask if the ravioli had meat. Which I don’t eat. About 1 minute after I had taken a bite and realized my faux pas, the server/owner was right at our table and asking wether I liked it or not. I was embarrassed to admit I didn’t eat meat and had ordered a dish that had it. He quickly removed the plate and brought me a delicious pasta sans meat in its place. I work in the restaurant business and I truly appreciated the quick response time even without my saying a word! We will go back again. And soon! It’s never a bad time for pasta and this authentic, made daily food, is just right!! As we were getting ready to leave a gentleman we assumed was an employee came over to ask about our experiences. Turns out he is the grandson of the original owners and he and his brother and sister are keeping the tradition alive. He was fun to chat with and he spoke of his grandparents with such love. He literally grew up in the restaurant. Interesting people and stories and delicious food. You can’t really...
