Let me start by saying I have been a loyal customer at this place since it has opened in Long Beach. Unfortunately there were two acai bowl places that opened up at the same exact time 2 stores down from each other not knowing because there were different landlords. This fuels a lot of competition and obviously one will be going out of business because Long Beach does in the winter.
I am not giving this place one star because the freshness of the food, but today I went in there ordered a regular bowl for my husband and a kids size for myself. There are a lot of kids working there so sometimes the bowl is made inconsistently with not a lot of acai and too much granola. So today it was totally off and not proportioned so my husband noticed before me and asked if there was any way they can put a little extra acai in top. The young associate got all disheveled and ran to her manager for help. Not sure why it was a simple question yes or no? But anyway her manager starts yelling from the manager NO it is a measured scoop for the kids size tell her order a regular (which is not the case I order kids size all the time is just wasn't made proportionately). So she finally comes over and in an argumentative tone tells me she can't give me a little extra. My husband responds that's ridiculous we come here everyday for breakfast since it is opened and she nastily cuts him off and tells us she's never seen us a day in her life. She then followed her statement by telling us to next time go next door at the other acai place. I will finish this review with shock because it's hard enough for small businesses to stay alive in Long Beach but the lack of customer service and low class they have running that place to argue with customers and tell them to use their competitors is sick. I will never go there again I will make sure I advise all flint friends and family not to eat there. Long Beach has many options with respectful staff I don't need to support unprofessional people.
BTW two people in the store when this happened left and said it would be the last time they will be eating there and will go next door from now on. Hopefully this establishment can learn and hire people who have common sense and some sort of...
Read moreI’m giving this place this low review for the following reason: the customer service. The girl working in the morning has absolutely appalling costumer service. I smiled and said good morning, and she responded with the most annoyed look on her face "are you picking up?" The misery at having to do her job is very unappealing as a customer. I was excited to try the bowl, but her rude attitude ruined the experience. Let me be clear, I did enjoy the food, and I don’t like to leave bad reviews, but I was shocked by how rude the staff is!
I have worked in the service industry for years, and trust me, I get it- but this girl is too young to be so bitter and sour. I went home and told my friends about the experience, they were in agreement- Sobowl is known for having super unfriendly staff.

From there I went to other locations across the island and has always been met with excellent service, UNTIL TODAY! My husband went into order an açaí bowl, there were two workers (1 maybe middle eastern male and one maybe Eastern Asian female).. the star is for the male, he was great. The MISSING stars is for the Asian woman.. She was RUDE, instead of putting my husbands bowl in a bag she threw the bag at him, she had a NASTY attitude!
