I recently had my bridal shower at Roc & Olive on Saturday, January 13th. Saying that everything was amazing are not strong enough words. I need to first mention two people. Amanda and Crystal are Rockstar's! We are regulars and know Amanda. I was thrilled when I found out that she would be working and organizing things the day of my shower. She was professional, efficient and thought of everything. I recently lost mom and knew this would be somewhat of a trying day but thanks to Amanda and Crystal the day was so beautiful. The bartender, a dark haired, male, I don't recall his name was also fabulous. The food was outstanding. Due to Covid, many people cancelled at the last minute. Roc & Olive was very gracious and understanding. They even sent out extra food that would have gone to those missing guests. In addition, we had a personal cake issue. Once again, Roc & Olive rose to the occasion and a few days before accommodated us with the most delicious/beautiful cake. Crystal always made sure I had a drink in my hand. The décor was perfect. Again, Roc accommodated my requests to leave the Christmas lights up. Also, that was the day it flooded in Long Beach. My bridal party was late getting there to set up. As a result, Roc understood this and allowed us to stay a bit longer than the contract had said. I can't thank the staff and business enough. People mentioned need recognition and a raise! It's businesses like Roc & Olive that make Long Beach a wonderful place and a tight knit community. A thousand times thank you!

We stumbled upon roc and olive at around 12pm on Saturday , passing on Billy’s beach children’s play place and cafe. The store was empty when we arrived but were greeted immediately and had a lovely spot outside. People quickly filed in as the brunch rush started and made for a lively crowd. My wife and I were feeling saucy and ordered a delicious bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, Sileni NZ highly recommend for its price Point and crisp enjoyability. For an app we had the kung pao calamari. It could’ve easily been run of the mill sweet and spicy Frozen calamari but they put black sesame seeds as a garnish and that little Touch classed it up a ton. Even with the sauce it was crispy and quality pieces. We had two salads for our entrées , my wife - the chopped salad w shrimp and for me - the wedge salad w shrimp for myself. Again, simple dishes but done so right. They QUARTED the wedge salad, are you kidding me they’re living in the future. Check out my pics below. Bacon legit textbook perfect and the shrimp was fresh, Plentiful and grilled to perfection. No skimping here. For such a good salad my only recommendation would be to use a nicer Bleu chz dressing. Our server Amanda actually cared, like she truly cared and was well versed on the menu. We live in queens and frequent Manhattan restaurants and let me tell You those servers don’t give af and for the money you spend it’s so appreciated to receive authentic service. Basic American fare , reasonably priced , no frills but chill vibes.

Parking can be good if you are not eating at a busy time especially during summer months. Waited for a hostess for a few minutes when you first walk in near the bar but I'm sure that is not all the time. It's a comfortable place and no loud music so you can actually have a conversation with each other. Service was super friendly and attentive (5 star for the waitress staff). As for food , the menu is very selective. Taste it about 3 star. The stuffed pretzel with brie cheese and a side dip of fig was OK/good. Figs made it a bit sweeter which helps balance the flavor. The house chopped salad was good and bacon can be put on the side if needed. The garlic mashed potatoes needed garlic and salt added. The red snapper with yellow basmati rice, sautéed spinach, with coconut lemongrass sauce was not something I would order. I questioned if it was red snapper. The coconut lemongrass has a distinctive taste and did not go well with the fish. Tried adding salt to help with the flavor but it didnt help. This was disappointing to say the lease. Not sure I would go back.

Nestled on 180 W Park Ave, Roc & Olive is a hidden gem that captured my heart during a recent dinner meeting. Located in Long Beach, NY, this restaurant offers a refreshing escape with its unique blend of delightful cuisine, inviting ambiance, and relaxed coastal vibe.

Definitely Batman approved, looking forward to going to the boardwalk and going back to Roc & Olive...

Took a friend out for dinner last night after a drink at Allegria hotel bar where we met a guy who knew the owner and completely raved about the place. I have been to this establishment several times before it became Roc & Olive and usually at the bar for drinks, and only once ordered mussels which were horrible then. We decided to share a paella as entree and ordered a couple of appetizers. The waitress said they weren't serving paella. We said that was disappointing and one of the reasons we came there. She said, ok let me double check. She came back and said, they are serving Paella. Not sure what was happening. We asked if they served bread, she said yes, but bread never came. We asked the busboy same question for bread, he said yes. Bread never came. We asked the girl who brought our appetizers if they had bread she said yes. Bread never came. As for drinks, saw the Aperol spritz on menu, asked if they had mint-to make a Hugo spritz (a more popular similar drink right now). Waitress said no. But when we ordered dessert it came decorated with mint. The aperol was too sweet (somehow)- so I watered it down. Water was warm asked for ice several times. As for the food, apps were very good, the Paella was good but most of the mussels were completely dried out and crusty and lobster a tad overdone. The waitress and busboy were were very nice and very accommodating, but the entire experience was bizarre. I live in Island Park and we have great restaurants there- and there are also great restaurants in LB. For this place- the front of the house and the back of the house- need better communication- and less dried out seafood, especially when they are surrounded by...
