JJ Coopers — Restaurant in City of Long Beach

Been here countless times. Unfortunately, our last dinner experience on 9/29/18 was less than pleasant. We waited 2 hours for our dinner that never came. Our waiter Corey was unresponsive to our request to check on our dinner. The first time we asked, he said it's the next on the list in the kitchen. The second time we asked he said it should be 2-3 minutes. He vanished after that. We waited almost another hour. I went to find Corey to ask for the check since he never came back. I found him folding napkins in the back of the restaurant while talking to a coworker. He told me our dinner was coming out.I asked him to bring me the check for our appetizers. Later we found out from the manager that the kitchen never pulled our ticket and our dinner was never made. The check for two appetizers and one glass of wine and one beer was $51.00. When the manager came over to our table he explained that there was a problem with his kitchen staff but did not offer anything to satisfy a regular customer. I expected him to at least be courteous and offer a drink on the house while we waited. It took my wife into shaming him to take care of the bill by saying "this is the least you could do". The manager could also use some training in customer service...

My husband and I came here today after walking along the broadwalk. We came here based on reviews but was absolutely disappointed. The only good thing was the hostess that seated us. After being seated by the hostess my husband went to the restroom as I looked at the menu, once he came back I went to use the restroom and still the waitress never came to our table. The place was not busy at all as we were the third occupied table there. We waited for about 25 minutes, another table came in was seated and was able to place their order in and were already being served their drinks, by the same waitress that never even looked our way or offered even a glass of water. Mind you I am 39 weeks pregnant which is blatantly obvious. The waitress even went to assist a table in the outside sitting area in which she had to pass ours, 3 times! Never have we ever experienced such a thing. If you are Hispanic or Black, expect not to be served or recognized as any other customer, because you will be completely ignored! We walked out and will never stop in this place again.The one star is only given for the nice hostess, otherwise we would have rated this...

My husband and I came in on Sunday because of a recommendation from a friend. Sorry friend, you must have had a much better experience than we did. We were pretty much ignored from the second we sat down and right to when it was time to pay. Dark haired blue eyed bartender that was apparently designated to our side of the bar seemed to just not really care. I have a very direct stare when I need something but for some reason I was invisible. Same to be said of the blond female in the blue shirt that wouldn’t make eye contact to save her life. Except when two guys sat right beside us, then she was all over our side of the bar like white on rice. The fish tacos and truffle fries were spot on! My husband’s beer tasted soapy and while my first sangria was light and delicious, my second was full of so much grapefruit juice it literally made my stomach hurt. Couldn’t say anything though because it was impossible to get either of the bartenders attention. As a bartender for 10 years In Manhattan I couldn’t not leave a 20% tip, even though I wanted to. Will not return and shame on those bartenders because they made us feel...
