Was in town for a weekend to see the falls. I wanted to go to a small coffee shop instead of starbucks and found this place on Google.
The atmosphere was relaxed and chill but there was only one dude working the counter on a Saturday at 11am. He seemed flustered and out of it. He messed up the couple ahead of us order and kept dropping stuff, which should of been our sign to go somewhere else, but we figured he was having a bad day and went ahead and ordered.
I ordered an iced caramel macchiato with oatmilk, and my girlfriend ordered an iced hazelnut latte. We also got one of the pop tarts and muffins, which were really good. While waiting for our drinks, he asked us two more times what we ordered. After the second time, he said he didn't have any hazelnut when we could see a bottled of unopened hazelnut off to the side. My girlfriend not wanting to make a hassle just asked for vanilla instead.
Once we finally got our drinks, we were highly disappointed. He had put steamed milk in her iced vanilla latte, which I've never seen someone do before. Causing the ice to melt and it tasted watered down, it also did not taste like the espresso was pulled properly. For my iced caramel macchiato, same issue he tried to steam the oatmilk causing my drink to have no ice in it, which made my drink lukewarm. Espresso didn't taste like it was pulled properly as well and my macchiato was pre mixed.
Our drinks were so bad, and we had no hope he was gonna make them any better, so we just left and went to the Bear Claw Cafe in the casino. Atmosphere of the place was nice and relaxed and the pastries were delicious. Food options looked good, but with how flustered the dude working was we didn't...
Read moreMisty Guild Cafe is an absolute delight! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy some incredible food and coffee.
The coffee is superb—smooth, rich, and brewed to perfection. We had a peppermint cafe mocha and chocolate banana latte. We tried several of their homemade baked goods; the chocolate chip muffin, chocolate chip scone, oatmeal caramel apple pastry, and their homemade Nutella pop tart, and all of them were absolutely delicious. You can tell everything is made with care and high-quality ingredients. Next time, I can’t wait to try one of their paninis—they look amazing! They have huge salads too.
Tony, the owner, is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about creating a space where people can gather, relax, and enjoy great food and drinks. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick coffee or planning to stay a while, Misty Guild Cafe is a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.
You can also add or take away from their “quest board” where you can suggest or take away a “quest” of something kind or beneficial to accomplish. Come back in the future and be rewarded for completing your quest!
Highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone in the area—you won’t be...
Read moreI'm a senior-level advisor to global tech and telecom firms on customer experience, but I always aim to support small local businesses. Told by a neighbor to check out Misty Guild —a bohemian vibe with promise. The coffee was solid, and the Wi-Fi worked fine. Clean? When has bohemian ever sparkled?
But what could’ve been a return-worthy experience took a hit with the barista / co-owner’s attitude. When I casually mentioned they didn’t appear on Apple Maps and suggested getting listed, I got a lecture about open-source philosophy and an unsolicited rant against Apple. Not just unnecessary—actively alienating 57% of their potential future customer base. Real smooth. And that wasn’t the only off-putting opinion he shared.
I live nearby and want to see local spots thrive, but customer experience matters. Being quirky doesn’t give you license to be condescending. Jury’s out on...
